In his first game in five days, Cameron Decker etched his name into history.

Decker doubled his previous personal best for hits in a game while also collecting a career-high 10 RBIs in Single-A Rancho Cucamonga’s 17-5 victory over San Jose on Friday at LoanMart Field.

No other Minor League player has achieved the combination of six hits and 10 RBIs in a single game since 2005, the earliest year for which such single-game stats are available. There have only been six instances of this achievement in AL/NL history, most recently Mark Reynolds in 2018.

In the first inning, Decker connected on his ninth homer of the season, his fifth for the Quakes after hitting four in 19 Rookie-level Arizona Complex League games. He tallied three RBIs on the swing, which left him one short of tying a career high at the time. The Giants managed a pitching change before Decker stepped into the box for a second time, but it didn’t faze the righty.

The first baseman stepped to the plate in the second and notched a fourth RBI on a single to left field. Decker collected his third hit of the night in the fourth, slashing an RBI double to left that put him a triple short of the cycle.

Decker added another RBI single in the fifth before hitting a two-run double in the seventh, but the doubles parade didn’t end there. The 2022 18th-round pick out of Evansville North (Ind.) High School connected on a third double in the eighth, moving his RBI total to five off strictly doubles.

While driving in 10 runs — one being himself on his first-inning homer — Decker scored a second time in the bottom half of the second on a double from right fielder Samuel Munoz, the Dodgers’ No. 22 prospect.

Decker hadn’t played in the Quakes’ six-game series with the Giants until Friday. His last appearance came Sunday in a contest he was lifted from in the fourth inning. The 20-year-old entered the weekend slate hitting .266/.386/.505 at Single-A and left his first game back with a .304/.413/.583 slash line after six at-bats.
