A moviegoer has lashed out at AMC Theaters after they found a sneaky fee on their concessions receipt.

TikToker Kikntiger detailed his frustration in a video entitled ‘Pretty weak move AMC Theatres’. The clip has received 1.2 million views since Thursday.

In it he explained how after ordering a popcorn and two large drinks at a cost of almost $24, he was then charged an additional $2 delivery fee alongside the usual $1 service fee.

‘Delivery fee INSIDE of a movie theater is insane,’ he wrote alongside the clip.

‘Companies are getting out of control with their fees’, Kikntiger starting by saying in his 45 second rant.

‘This is for concessions in a movie theater. You know, this isn’t Door Dash!’ he said with incredulity, referring to the popular food delivery app.

‘This is at my local movie theater, where the only option to get any snacks is they bring it to you, straight to your seat,’ Kikntiger went on.

‘You can’t just go to the snack counter and order what you want and walk to the theater with it. So, okay, whatever — but then they charge you $2 just to deliver it 25 feet from the kitchen? Like, you’re not driving it to my house. And then a dollar service fee, too? For what? For the privilege of ordering food?’

Kikntiger said that he felt he had to speak out in this particular instance because the $2 fee is unavoidable if purchasing food at the AMC location he frequents.

‘I understand concessions are expensive; I don’t care about that. But just slapping me with a $2 fee that I can’t avoid? Ridiculous,’ he says ending his video.

The posting generated plenty of sympathy from other online followers.

‘Just bring your own food in. They never check. You can literally bring in a bag full of food and drinks,’ advised one commenter.

‘I worked at an AMC Dine-In and even I can’t find a reason in my head for these fees,’ added another.

‘Will they start charging a filler fee for the sodas and a bagging fee for the popcorn?’ wondered a third.

Others were less accommodating to Kikntiger’s gripe.

‘If you’re going to pay $7.50 for a Coke Zero you can pay the $2’ surmised one.

‘Dude, you want them to work for free they have to bring it to you while you’re sitting down and relaxing. Come on stop being a Karen. Ken,’ added a second.

It appears the addition of fees is nothing new with a Reddit thread discussing the topic in 2021.

‘After ordering tickets online for a DINE IN theater I then get asked if I want to order food ahead of time. I thought that seemed like a nice new feature, after I added my food order I was presented with the price and there was a $2.00 delivery fee tacked on. I just cancelled the order thinking I’d like to see them present this in person,’ the Redditer wrote.

The poster suggested that the fees should be included in the overall cost of the items being ordered and not singled out as an additional charge at the end of the check.

‘This just seems so stupid. It’s a DINE IN where the whole purpose is to order food and have it brought to your seat,’ they added.

A check of Dine-In AMC locations confirms that an additional $3 is added to any food order tab. As per the TikTok video, the charge consists of a $2 Delivery Fee and $1 Service Fee.

AMC locations without the Dine-In option charge a $1 flat fee for service.
