A woman has died mid-flight on a plane from Brisbane to Melbourne. The passenger collapsed on the Virgin Australia flight at about 9.30am on Monday. A woman has died mid-flight on a plane from Brisbane to Melbourne.

The passenger collapsed on the Virgin Australia flight at about 9.30am on Monday.

Flight crew performed CPR on the woman as the plane was given priority landing at Tullamarine at 10.15am.

Emergency crews were waiting on the tarmac to aid the woman.

A Virgin Australia spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia: ‘The passenger was taken off the aircraft but unfortunately later passed away’. 

The passenger’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a report for the coroner will be prepared by police.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Virgin Australia for comment.
