McDonald’s customers were horrified to watch an employee allegedly dumping expired milk into one of its ice cream machines.
TikTok user tel2raww posted a video on the social media platform last week of themselves allegedly pouring chunky milk into a McDonald’s machine.
The TikToker claimed in the video that their general manager told them to pour the expired dairy product into it. McDonald’s has been contacted for comment.
The expired milk came from a one percent low-fat milk jug, that the fast-food chain sells at all its restaurants.
Although the TikToker claimed their manager discussed ‘saving money,’ commenters who claimed to be McDonald’s employees highly disagreed with this idea.

The McDonald’s machine used for shakes and ice cream is a typical item found in its fast-food locations.
Instead of expired milk, employees pour liquid from bags containing ingredients to make shakes and ice cream.
The bag’s base is reduced-fat vanilla ice cream, followed by milk, cream, corn syrup, and other additives.
McDonald’s employees who are given the task to change the shake machine must pour the bag of mix into it and be able to see the top of it while doing so.
Due to its size, employees who add the mix to the ice cream machine are usually able to pour in the entire bag.
Employees may also choose to test the machine with shakes and ice cream before a manager gives the okay to serve it to customers.
TikTok users who claimed to work at McDonald’s have either disagreed with this non-sanitary money-saving method, explained the correct way of caring for an ice cream machine, or revealed they, too, have done this under management orders.

Various TikTok users who claimed to be McDonald’s employees explained the proper method of changing the ice cream machine
‘I’ve been working at McDonald’s for almost three years, and I didn’t know about this until my manager told me a while ago. They do this so they are not wasting the product and money,’ wrote an alleged employee.
Another person wrote: ‘This can actually kill people! There’s a thing called dairy gas allergies, and the gas comes from expiring, which is also a dairy acid allergy, which comes from expired milk again. This is insane.’
Other TikTokers who claimed to be employees at places like Subway and Dunkin Donuts shared their expiration horror stories while working.
‘Dominoes does this too! Obviously not with milk – but with expired foods, we still use them,’ a TikToker wrote.
One TikTok user was seemingly angry, not at McDonald’s, but with the video poster themselves.
‘The fact that you listened and actually did it is the most wild part, like instead of posting about it, go to the f***ing health department and report them,’ wrote a commenter.
