Rapper-turned-businessman, philanthropist and sports commentator Snoop Dogg has lived a life most of us could only dream of.
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is a formerly convicted felon who used to deal drugs during his time with The Crips gang, and was once accused of murdering a rival gang member, a charge he was later acquitted for.
Though he since has moved on from his previous life of crime and adrenaline, now leading America’s coverage of the Olympic Games alongside comedian Kevin Hart since 2021, it appears he still hasn’t forgotten his roots.
Resurfaced footage from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics shows Snoop falling in love with dressage horse riding in spite of his reported fear for horses.
He and Hart were seen watching German rider Isabell Werth’s mount take part in the event.
‘The horse is Crip Walking, that’s gangster as a motherf****er… this horse is off the chain,’ Snoop said in the 2021 video, adding: ‘I gotta get this motherf***er in a video!’

Crip Walking is a dance move adopted by several rappers on the West Coast who were affiliated with the Crips, the notorious southern California gang set up in the late 1960s.
Dancers who Crip Walk quickly and intricately move their feet, most often spelling out C-R-I-P with their feet.
The dressage event, seemingly the first time the rapper had ever seen anything like it, appears to have made a strong impression on him as he was seen watching this year's dressage event with long-term business partner Martha Stewart on Saturday.

The rapper and actor got to enjoy a fine performance from British rider Becky Moody, who clocked up a leading first-round score aboard her horse Jagerbomb.
Late last week, Stewart and Snoop revealed that the rapper had a fear of horses that he appears to have overcome.

Stewart, speaking to NBC, said: ' Snoop called me and said he knows I know horses, and he's a little fearful of horses.'
Snoop, also being interviewed at the time, said: 'I'm still scared of horses.'
'Have you ever ridden a horse?' Stewart asked.
'No,' said Snoop. 'I'm scared.'
He is working for American channel NBC throughout the Games and has enjoyed a busy time in Paris, carrying the Olympic flame for a short leg on the final relay before popping up at a number of events, including the gymnastics.
Snoop Dogg, whose full name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., said of his time as a torchbearer: 'Something I'm gonna be able to live with and be happy with (is) to know that I was the face and the voice of peace for that one moment in time.'
The presence of Snoop Dogg certainly created a buzz about the venue, with Moody's team-mate Carl Hester saying news of his arrival had caused a stir in the stables.
He said: 'I didn't get to meet him, but of course the talk of the stables was that he was here and everyone was looking for him on the camera.
'It's great he's enjoying dressage and he was here.'
