An Australian holidaymaker has called out Jetstar‘s ‘unfair’ treatment on a flight from Bali after airport staff told her to throw away a bottle of water.

Dasha Daley, from  Perth, shared a video accusing Jetstar of denying her ‘basic human right’ to water during a three-and-a-half-hour flight home from Bali.

‘The joys of flying Jetstar,’ she captioned the TikTok video.

‘When you buy a bottle of water at the departure gate and then take it off you when you board as it’s not allowed, but then also refuse to serve free water when you’re suffering with Bali belly.

‘Should be illegal.’

Ms Daley explained she’d bought the bottle of water after passing the first security checkpoint but had it confiscated at a second before she boarded the flight.

She claimed she asked flight attendants for water twice during the flight but was refused both times, despite struggling with an upset stomach.

It’s understood Denpasar International Airport requires all travellers to dispose of liquid containers larger than 100ml before boarding their flight.

Jetstar typically offers cups of water for free during flights but Ms Daley claimed she only received a drink once the meal service began.

‘I did have a free meal because I paid for 30kg luggage and that came with a beverage so I was lucky I had some water then. But meal service takes some time and I had to wait a while,’ Ms Daley, an OnlyFans creator, told Yahoo Australia.

‘I think it’s not fair you can’t take a bottle on the plane when you already went past security,

‘Then it’s unfair you don’t get water when you need it.’

The clip has attracted more than 42,000 views within 24 hours.

Viewers were shocked to hear Ms Daley’s experience and called for Jetstar to improve its service.

‘I’ve never heard of this. Even budget airlines in the US don’t do this,’ one viewer commented.

Another added: ‘No idea why they do this! It’s ridiculous.’

A third wrote: ‘Sorry about their harsh rules n regulations.’

The clip prompted others to share their own experiences

‘Yes it just happened to me too and it’s infuriating,’ one Aussie wrote.

Others pointed out all airlines have the same rule.

‘It’s not Jetstar, it’s all flights to Australia from Bali. Australian govt requirement,’ one wrote.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Jetstar for comment.
