Ryan Straker, 19, punched the off-duty officer, a 54-year-old man, and ripped off his cellphone during the holdup around noon on Snediker Avenue near Linden Boulevard in Brownsville, according to authorities and law enforcement sources.

The officer was armed with a gun, which apparently went off during a struggle between the men, authorities and sources said. 

The teen was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, cops said.

He was slapped with charges of second-degree attempted robbery, third-degree assault and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, authorities said.

The off-duty officer, who did not need to be hospitalized after the clash, did not face charges in connection to the shooting by Tuesday.
