Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 arrives later this year, which includes brand-new round-based Zombies maps. A new cinematic trailer for the Terminus map sets up the events that followed the final Zombies cutscene from Black Ops Cold War. Here’s everything we learned from the trailer reveal.

In the final events of Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies storyline, players helped the Requiem crew stop the threat of the Forsaken and the Dark Aether. The victory came at a steep cost with the loss of Agent Samantha Maxis, who sacrificed herself to seal the Dark Aether portal, and the entire Requiem crew was arrested by the “Director,” a character revealed to be Edward Richtofen.

Now, the Black Ops 6 storyline takes place almost half a decade later, and Terminus is a nighttime map set on a remote prison island. The Requiem crew is imprisoned here–including Weaver, Carver, Strauss, Dr. Elizabeth Grey, and the pilot known as Raptor One. The entire crew is also looking way more buff than we saw them in Black Ops Cold War.

The cinematic shows Requiem get a dramatic prison breakout, which is all thanks to their Black Ops Cold War adversary, Dr. William Peck, and a brand-new character named Maya Aguinaldo. Peck wants Requiem’s help with hunting down Richtofen, and Maya is revealed to have her own personal stake in the rescue mission, as she mentions her help included a deal to also rescue her brother from the island. However, all of their plans are interrupted by a zombie outbreak.

Terminus is just one of the two round-based Zombies maps confirmed for the launch of Black Ops 6. Liberty Falls is the second map, and both maps will have connected storylines taking place at the exact same time.

Black Ops 6 Zombies will have gameplay details revealed on August 8, with more multiplayer details and live gameplay being shown during the Call of Duty: Next event on August 28. Several Black Ops 6 leaks have surfaced ahead of time, including a potential new Warzone map, and the new game mechanic that lets players use their enemies as meat shields.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to come out later this year on October 25. It’ll be playable on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
