Aug. 8: RHP Parker Dunshee selected to MLB roster; OF Eli White recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett; LHP Dylan Dodd optioned to Triple-A; OF Eddie Rosario designated for assignment
Rosario’s second run with the Braves was short-lived after the 2021 NLCS MVP posted a .154/.181/.282 slash line with three home runs and nine RBIs in 24 games. Atlanta had signed him to a Minor League contract on July 5 after he was released by the Nationals.

Dodd, the club’s No. 14 prospect, allowed two runs in two innings of relief work on Wednesday in his first MLB action of the season after he was recalled earlier that day.

Dunshee, 29, was a seventh-round pick of the A’s in 2017 and signed a Minor League deal with Atlanta in January. He’s posted a 2.30 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP in 47 innings as a reliever across Triple-A and Double-A this season. His first appearance will be his MLB debut.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP Reynaldo López (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return: Aug. 18
The Braves took advantage of a chance to rest López for three weeks. The All-Star hurler exited a July 28 start against the Mets with right forearm tightness. An MRI exam showed no structural damage. But the club took the cautious route with the pitcher, who spent the past two seasons as a reliever. (Last updated: Aug. 6)

LHP Ray Kerr (left elbow UCL)
Expected return: 2025
Kerr complained about the elbow after arriving to Triple-A Gwinnett, and manager Brian Snitker said he expects the 29-year-old will have to undergo Tommy John surgery. Kerr was optioned to Gwinnett on June 15, but he didn’t throw a pitch there. He was instead placed on the 15-day IL retroactive to June 16, and the team voided his option to Gwinnett.

Kerr appeared in 10 games, including two starts, for the Braves this season. He was 1-2 with a 5.64 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on July 5. (Last updated: July 5)

Ynoa has struggled to return since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022. The right-hander made three appearances for Triple-A Gwinnett this year, but he hasn’t pitched since April 14. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 16 to create a 40-man roster spot for Grant Holmes. (Last updated: June 16)

Acuña underwent season-ending surgery on June 4 after suffering an ACL tear in his left knee on May 26 in Pittsburgh. The operation was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Acuña will remain in Southern California for around 45 days post-op to begin his rehab before returning to the team.

“My goal is to come back as a better player and a better person,” Acuña said on May 30. “Who knows, maybe I can win another MVP.” (Last updated: June 6)
