Sabrina Carpenter just did her makeup so nice.
The “Please Please Please” singer, 25, appeared at Variety‘s 2024 Power of Young Hollywood party in Santa Monica, Calif. on Thursday, Aug. 8. She stepped out with her signature beauty look and an equally glamorous sparkling gold dress.
An honoree at the annual event alongside Marcello Hernández and Sadie Sink, Carpenter walked the red carpet in a gorgeous gown with a body-hugging corset-esque top and flowing skirt. Her ensemble also featured silver detail.
She let her dress do all the talking and kept her accessories to a minimum with a couple of rings. Her blonde hair was wand-curled into a loose updo, her curtain bangs perfectly framing her face.
Of course, no Sabrina Carpenter look is complete without her go-to makeup, and tonight was no exception. The former Disney Channel star was radiant in a neutral eye look, bold deep red lips and her trademark flushed cheeks.
Yellow appears to be the shade of the season as Carpenter rang in her 25th birthday in a bright yellow mini-dress in May. With a low-cut neckline and open back, the look was inspired by the gown Kate Hudson donned as Andie Anderson in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Other than the daringly shorter length, the only other difference between Carpenter’s piece and Hudson’s was that the singer’s included sequins straps and panels that her stylist, Jared Ellner, sourced from Depop, an online shopping platform for vintage and second-hand clothing.
Ellner shared images of Carpenter posing in the dress alongside Hudson’s Andie rocking it with ease and wrote, “sabrina’s 25th 🥂💛 inspired by the one and only andie anderson.”
Carpenter, whose song “Espresso” became the pop hit of the summer and continues to soar on the charts, recently revealed that there “was a lot of questioning” when it came to releasing the track.
“I was completely alone in wanting to release ‘Espresso.’ Not so much from my immediate team. But when it came to ‘the powers above,’” the singer, who is releasing her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet later this month, said in a cover story interview with Variety on Aug. 6.

She continued: “There was a lot of questioning behind whether it made sense. But they trusted me in the end, and I was happy that I believed in myself at that moment.”
While the singer has been releasing music since her Disney days, her career has skyrocketed in recent months. Last year, she joined Taylor Swift‘s hugely successful Eras Tour, completing her run with the show in March 2023. Compounded by the release of “Espresso” and her blossoming relationship with Irish actor Barry Keoghan, Carpenter has emerged as a pop star — and style star — to watch.

The singer took her sweet and playful fashion sense to the steps of the Met Gala in May, where she channelled Cinderella in a black strapless Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a mermaid bodice with a sweetheart neckline, plus a voluminous light blue satin skirt.
Carpenter and Keoghan, 31, also made their red carpet debut at the event. The Saltburn star wore an olive velvet Burberry velvet jacket, waistcoat and trousers and a ruffled silk poplin shirt. He added a black wool top hat and leather Oxford boots.
