According to a press release, the upcoming game will be a 2D side-scrolling platformer featuring various puzzles. It will also feature “50 unique levels” in five different worlds. Players will be able to explore locations from the books, such as City Hall, the Giant Marshmallow Factory, and others. The story will follow Dog Man pursuing a thief who stole the keys to the city.

Dav Pilkey has worked on various children’s books, which include the Captain Underpants series, Dragon, Dumb Bunnies, Ricky Ricotta’s Mighty Robot series, and more. Interestingly enough, Dog Man first appeared in Captain Underpants, but once the series ended, Dog Man became a spin-off series spawning several popular sequels. Dog Man tells of a person who has the head of a dog but the body of a human police officer who goes around stopping various crimes and saving the city.
