First reported by Famitsu, the game is removing the “Erotica” category within its photography mechanic. In the original Dead Rising, players could earn PP, or Prestige Points, by taking photos in various categories. PP can then be used to increase Frank’s abilities. Some categories include “Horror” when lots of zombies are present in the shot, or “Brutality” when there’s gore and carnage around. The “Erotica” category includes taking shots of upskirts or cleavage.

While Capcom didn’t provide an explanation for the removal, it’s safe to say that this decision was for the best with a game coming out in the year 2024.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster launches on September 19 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a physical release coming in November. This remaster retains the original’s gameplay mechanics, while also adding in certain modern features including auto-saves, revamped controls, and improved UI.

In GameSpot’s Dead Rising review, we said, “Dead Rising’s gory, ridiculous, and entertaining action, coupled with its real-time structure and campy stylistic touches, make it one of the most unique games currently available for the Xbox 360.”
