Woman raped by a man who asked for directions in the Bronx: cops

A man was arrested Saturday for raping a woman after asking her for directions in the Bronx, cops said. The 35-year-old victim was walking near Bergen Avenue and East 149 Street around 1 a.m. on Aug. 5 when she was approached by a man asking for directions.  The brute then forced her to have intercourse

A man was arrested Saturday for raping a woman after asking her for directions in the Bronx, cops said.

The 35-year-old victim was walking near Bergen Avenue and East 149 Street around 1 a.m. on Aug. 5 when she was approached by a man asking for directions. 

The brute then forced her to have intercourse in a “dark area” and fled east on East 149 Street towards Brook Avenue, cops said.

The victim was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

Papa Diop, 38, was arrested after police recognized him from a wanted photo, cops said. He was charged with first-degree rape.
