A Tesla driver has been mocked after their damaged vehicle was found abandoned in a precarious position by the side of the road.

A bystander snapped a photograph of the electric car resting on an embankment on the corner of Gastaldo and Mornington roads in Worsley, south-east of Perth.

The image was shared to Facebook and it is not known whether the Tesla was damaged as a result of an accident or how it became parked at a 45 degree angle.

‘Road to Worsley. Yeah I don’t think this Tesla is 4X4. Just can’t take the hillbilly out the yuppy,’ the caption read.

Social media users were quick to call out the Tesla driver.

‘Hey mate, you can’t park there,’ one wrote.

‘Bloody hell. Car’s too expensive to be leaving it on that road,’ another added.

Others said they had seen the car in the same position at various times of the day.

The image was posted on Facebook on July 18 and shows a damaged Tesla up an embankment on the corner of Gastaldo Road and Mornington Road in Worsley, 189 km south east of Perth

Many made no attempt to hide their disdain for electric vehicles.

‘Not like it’s going to get stolen who would want one anyway,’ one wrote.

‘Don’t ever buy an EV cars, they got the mind of their own driving up the hill,’ another wrote.

‘The driver doesn’t like his Tesla he just dumped the car and left it there. Petrol cars are better than the electric cars they suck.’

‘I could imagine everyone going passed laughing their asses off “f****** tesla drivers” get a real car!’

A social media user revealed the Tesla was removed in the afternoon and included a photo of the vehicle being loaded onto a tilt tray truck.

Daily Mail Australia contacted WA Police and the Shire of Collie for comment.
