Emily Cooper is back!

Lily Collins, 35, paid homage to her fashion-forward titular character’s extravagant style at the Emily in Paris Los Angeles premiere in a black embroidered gown.

Her strapless gown was constructed with various sequins on its bodice and a peplum effect at its waist that included different variations of sequins. The dress’ skirt had an embroidered transparent checkboard print that peeked at her legs.

The star of the Netflix series, which enters its fourth season, accessorized with geometric dangle drop earrings, her wedding band and a single silver ring. She wore her new bob in a sleek, straight style. Collins kept her makeup timeless and elegant with a simple glam look that included soft brown eyeshadow and nude lipstick.

She exclusively tells PEOPLE that fans will “finally get to see a little bit of what they’ve been waiting for” in this upcoming season.

“Well, we start out with a failed wedding and a baby on the way and love feelings expressed within a love triangle,” she recalls for PEOPLE. “And this season we get to see a choice being made and the decision that comes with that and what unfolds.

On the red carpet at the Egyptian Theater, Collins posed with fellow cast members Ashley Park, Lucien Laviscount, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery and William Abadie.

Earlier this summer, Collins debuted her short hair transformation at the world premiere of her film MaXXXine. In an Instagram post, the actress shared a behind-the-scenes look at the recent chop, including a video of herself making the first cut.

“New hair era unlocked,” she captioned the post, tagging her hairstylist Gregory Russell.

Based on the trailer for the Emily in Paris season 4, Collins’ fresh cut won’t be making an appearance, but fans can expect even bigger and bolder fashion from the star and her castmates.

In an interview with  InStyle published on Aug. 6, the star opened up about how her character helped her to have fun with fashion again after a tumultuous relationship with an ex-boyfriend.

She explained that when she was dating this ex-boyfriend — whom she has never publicly named — he would tell her that “you can’t wear that, you can’t do that, you can’t say that.” As a result, she wore muted colors and stayed away from anything bold and bright, referring to the time as her “dull period.”

“I thought for a while that if you make yourself physically, with volume, appear bigger, then you’re taking up too much space,” Collins shared.

The actress explained that something she loves about her character Emily is that “she takes up space in a lovely way.”

“Mixing patterns and prints textures, styles in a way that was foreign to me,” Collins continued. “I started to realize that I didn’t have to be afraid of color anymore.”

Emily in Paris season 4 part 1 will be released on Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 15.
