Dragon Age: The Veilguard Release Date Confirmed Following Leak

Following a leak that spilled the beans ahead of schedule, EA and BioWare have officially announced that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will launch on October 31, 2024.

BioWare made the announcement in a press release and new trailer that showed off more of Veilguard’s world and characters. Players take on the role of Rook, a customizable protagonist who rises up to become a hero of Thedas. The game also sports a supporting cast of companion characters, including Bellara, Davrin, Emmrich, Harding, Lucanis, Neve, and Taash, each of whom has their own special combat abilities and equipment.

The Veilguard’s standard edition costs $70 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with the PC edition coming in $10 cheaper at $60. Everyone who preorders the game will receive a cosmetic Blood Dragon armor set for the warrior, mage, and rogue classes.

People who preorder the deluxe edition ($90 on console and $80 on PC) will get the bonus listed above as well as three Rook armor sets, six Rook weapons, and seven each of companion armor and weapons.

BioWare also announced that the BioWare Gear Store has been updated to include new Veilguard-themed merch, including a $150 item called Rook’s Coffer. This includes a light-up Lyrium dagger and Rook’s deck of cards, but it doesn’t come with a copy of the game.

BioWare is planning to reveal many more details about The Veilguard in the coming days and weeks. During the week of August 19, developer BioWare will show high-level combat mechanics and how the game performs on PC. During the week of August 26, more information about companions will be shown. A developer Q&A session will be held in Discord on August 30, and many more details will be revealed starting in September until launch day.
