Monkey business is usually discouraged when it comes to Souls-like games, but Black Myth: Wukong is the rare exception to the rule. One of the big game releases of August, you can score a pretty decent 10% discount on the PC version of the game, over at Fanatical. Normally $60, you can grab the game for just $54 ahead of its August 19 release, or if you feel like unlocking some extra content, the digital deluxe edition will cost you just $63 (normally $70).

The standard edition is just the base game, while the deluxe version throws in a unique Bronzecloud Staff weapon, extra equipment, and the digital soundtrack. An action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. Black Myth: Wukong puts you in the boots of the Destined One as he encounters powerful foes on his journey. Reviews have gone live for the fast-paced action game, and so far, it has received a positive reception from several outlets.

“It’s not uncommon to go from one boss fight into another and then another, and it’s in these elaborate battles where Black Myth: Wukong shines,” Richard Wakeling wrote in GameSpot’s Black Myth: Wukong review. The moments in between, however, aren’t quite as strong, sometimes devolving into aimless tedium. But its satisfying combat and unique variety of boss fights mostly manages to overcome these flaws.”

Related to the game, you can pick up the books that inspired Black Myth: Wukong–and more importantly, Dragon Ball–as Journey to the West’s revised translation is available at Amazon. Originally published in China in the 16th century, Journey to the West has long been considered to be one of China’s greatest cultural exports. The story follows the monk Tang Sanzang and his three protectors–one of whom is the Monkey King Sun Wukong–on his pilgrimage, the titular journey to the west.
