Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl Delayed To November

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World has announced that the game has been delayed to November. Originally scheduled to launch on September 5 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, the game will now be released on November 20.

“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience,” game director Yevhen Grygorovych explained in a statement. “These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more unexpected anomalies–or simply ‘bugs’ as you call them. We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding, it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.”

Stalker 2 has seen several delays since it was first announced, due in part to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The Ukrainian studio was forced to relocate to Prague in the Czech Republic, and a member of the development team, Volodymyr Yezhov, was later killed in action while fighting for Ukraine. The studio’s offices in Prague were also damaged in a fire in late 2023, but fortunately, no one was hurt.

GSC Game World also announced that it’ll be doing a deep dive into the game on August 12 as part of a new developer diary video. This preview will feature a variety of never-before-seen content, interviews, and a behind-the-scenes look into the development process. Fans can also expect to see new footage showing a world overview, various locations, and a walkthrough of one of the story quests.

In case you missed it, Stalker 2 gameplay was also shown off during the June Xbox Games Showcase. That trailer showcased some of the gameplay you can expect, as well as some of the creepy enemies you’ll encounter while exploring the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
