One of Kate Beckinsale‘s latest looks is topped with nostalgia.

The English actress, 50, stepped out to The Fab Thirties, a star-studded charity event hosted by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, in a backless Stephane Rolland ball gown with an embroidered diamond-shaped skirt. But it was her dramatic headpiece by headwear designer Nerida Fraiman that turned heads.

Beckinsale’s black headband was covered in sequins and included a birdcage veil with white accents that covered her face.

In her Instagram Stories on Thursday, July 25, she revealed how she ended up wearing the unique accessory, and the delightful discovery that came with it.

“Just a moment for this beautiful headpiece and veil – two days before the event I received a DM from the milliner @neridafraiman offering to lend me a hat,” the star began. “I said wait – Nerida Fraiman from my year at school????”

She confirmed “it was” indeed the same Nerida Fraiman, adding, “She is lovely and so talented and I am thrilled I got to bring a whiff of the lower fifth to this beautiful event.”
