Season 5 is live in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, and among other things, the update includes two powerful new weapon attachments, the Quartermaster Suppressor and Paracord Grip. In order to use them, you’ll first need to unlock them. Here we’ll explain the benefits of using these attachments and how to unlock them.

Quartermaster Suppressor

The new Quartermaster Suppressor attachment is a new large-bore suppressor that keeps you off the radar, while also providing benefits to minimize recoil. This provides a 10% reduction to a weapon’s recoil gun kick, a 23% reduction to horizontal recoil, and 10% to vertical recoil, making it even more beneficial than the popular Casus Brake muzzle attachment.

How to unlock the Quartermaster Suppressor

To unlock this new attachment you’ll need to activate its Armory Unlock and complete eight daily challenges. Unlike equipment and attachments from past seasons, these new Season 5 attachments are not shown in your in-game armory.

  • Go into your custom loadouts in either MW3 or Warzone
  • Select any weapon to modify in the Gunsmith
  • Select the muzzle for customization and scroll all the way to the end of the list. (Locked attachments are always at the end of the list.)
  • Click on the Quartermaster Suppressor to activate the armory unlock challenge

The rest is pretty straightforward. Complete eight daily challenges across MW3 multiplayer, Warzone, or Zombies to unlock the attachment.

Paracord Grip

The new Paracord Grip underbarrel is an angled grip designed to provide better weapon control for improved accuracy. This helps with improving horizontal recoil control, sprint-to-fire speed, aiming idle sway, and aim walking steadiness, and unlike most attachments, the Paracord Grip doesn’t have any cons to negatively impact your weapon.

How to unlock the Paracord Grip

The Paracord Grip is also not automatically shown in the Armory challenges, so you’ll need to follow the same few steps to find and activate the attachment’s challenge.

  • Go into your custom loadouts in either MW3 or Warzone
  • Select any weapon to modify in the Gunsmith
  • Select the underbarrel for customization and scroll all the way to the end of the list. (Locked attachments are always at the end of the list.)
  • Click on the Paracord Grip to activate the armory unlock challenge

With that done, you’ll again just have to complete eight daily challenges across MW3 multiplayer, Warzone, or Zombies to unlock the attachment.

These two new attachments are great for improving Season 5’s new STG assault rifle, helping to reduce the gun’s wobbly recoil and make it easier to control for long-range fights.

Both the STG assault rifle and Static-HV submachine gun are unlocked in free tiers of the battle pass, and you can view all the Season 5 battle pass content here.
