Kate Beckinsale is thankful for the meaningful birthday gift from her mother.
On Friday, July 26, the English actress celebrated her 51st birthday at home with her loved ones.

“Waking up at my mum’s house in my bedroom from when I was 6 on my birthday,” the Jolt actress began in a lengthy Instagram caption.
She started the carousel off with a photo of herself wearing a layered pink mini dress and a “birthday girl” headband. Beckinsale sat in a twin-sized bed with a pink stuffed animal resting on the pillows behind her.
“My mum gave me my dad’s jumper which she’s kept carefully all these years and made me sob,” the actress wrote.
Beckinsale’s late father, Richard Beckinsale, would also have been turning a year older this month.
On July 6, Beckinsale — who was 5 years old when the actor died of a heart attack in 1979 — shared an Instagram post in his honor.

In her social media tribute for what would have been his 77th birthday, she included several black-and-white photos of herself with Richard and her mother, actress Judy Loe.
There were also pictures of him from his acting days, including one from his 1973 film The Lovers, which was the follow-up to a television series of the same name.
For Kate’s own birthday, she continued sharing what being at home with family on her special day meant to her.

“Lovely loving birthday morning at home – thank you all so much for your lovely birthday wishes and support it means a lot,” the Total Recall star wrote, adding several white heart emojis.
The Instagram carousel also included a picture of Beckinsale hugging Loe, 77, who smiled. Several balloons and a plate of food could be seen in their kitchen, as well as confetti.
During the simple, but sweet celebration, the Van Helsing talent also took a selfie with a coffee mug and posed holding up a shirt she received as a gift.

Beckinsale has seemingly been awaiting her birthday for months, as the actress has recently shared her love for bows on multiple occasions.
On Tuesday, July 23, the actress arrived at the Summer Gala by Gala One at Golf Club Saint-Tropez in Gassin, France, wearing a black, form-fitting strapless velvet gown. The design featured a plunging, structured neckline.
However, the most eye-catching additions to the dress were textured, gold metallic bows resting at her hips.
