DC has just released the first trailer for its upcoming animated show, Creature Commandos. It will be one of the first projects to come out under James Gunn’s leadership and is scheduled to come out later this year in December. Similar to the Suicide Squad, the show will follow a group of villains who will be sent on dangerous missions for the United States government.

We now have some more insight on what the show will be about thanks to a trailer that was posted to the official Max YouTube channel. The Creature Commandos will follow Rick Flag as he leads a team of non-human villains which consist of The Bride, Dr. Phosphorus, Weasel, G.I. Robot, Nina Mazursky, and Frankenstein. The team still follows the orders of Amanda Waller but is different from the primarily human Suicide Squad–Waller calls this team Task Force M (the M standing for “monster”) instead of Task Force X.

Although not much of the overall plot was shown, it appears that Creature Commandos will maintain a lot of the humor that Gunn’s other DC projects, such as The Suicide Squad and Peace Maker. Viola Davis will also be reprising her role as Amanda Waller, and the show will also feature David Harbour (Stranger Things), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier).

This isn’t the only animated superhero show that DC has recently produced. Just last month, the studio released Suicide Squad Isekai, which follows Harley Quinn and a group of villains who get stuck in a high fantasy world–it is in no way connected to Creature Commandos.
