A mother from New York was shocked to find her daughter’s Burger King meal was splattered with blood.

The stomach-turning incident occurred at a branch of the popular fast food chain located in Getzville, in the western part of the state.

Everything appeared normal until Tiffany Floyd handed her four-year-old girl, Tay, her kids meal consisting of a burger and fries.

The youngster had requested her food to come without ketchup so was surprised to find her instructions had been ignored.

It was when her mother took a closer look, she found to her horror the red splashes on her food were not in fact tomato sauce, but blood.

Upon calling the restaurant, the manager appeared to give a logical explanation as he informed Floyd that a cook had cut his hand earlier in the day.

Floyd recounted the entire incident calmly in a short clip posted to  TikTok

‘I gave her the bag to eat the food and I heard ‘Mom I don’t want ketchup’, so I take the bag back thinking they’ve messed up our order and I look and see there is blood all over her bag, the hamburger, the toy, her fries, everything,’ Floyd said, while wearing plastic gloves.

‘I instantly told her to spit out her food. She did have fries and a bit of her hamburger. And then I looked at my meal, and there was blood on mine too,’ she went on.

‘I called Burger King and the manager told me that somebody cut his hand and that if I came back he would give me a refund.

‘I reached out to our local health department and they filed a report but there’s not much more they can do,’ Floyd explained while maintaining her composure.

In the video, which has received almost 3 million views, Floyd revealed how her daughter must now undergo monthly blood tests for an entire year to ensure she has not picked up any kind of bloodborne illness.

The Niagara County Department of Health also confirmed that it called the Burger King location and had the manager confirm he had a worker cut their finger but ‘didn’t think they were bleeding that bad,’ Floyd recalled.

‘This is a serious issue and now I have to wait a whole month to get my daughter tested for any blood issues.’

Floyd appeared far more angry on Facebook in which she described herself as ‘LIVID’ at the cavalier way in which Burger King had treated the incident.

Those commenting online suggested Floyd quickly make plans to sue the restaurant following the incident.

‘Contact an attorney – minimally they’ll get you a settlement to offset any medical testing costs etc. (also emotional distress) don’t engage with Burger King further, attorney first,’ suggested one.

‘That’s a lawsuit.. bodily fluid of any kind on food should be considered a bio-hazard,’ agreed a second.

‘The level of neglect is terrifying!!! I hope the blood test comes out normal,’ wrote another user.

‘That’s terrifying! I’m not particularly a huge germaphobe over most things, but this would send me into a blind panic,’ added a fourth.

Burger King’s corporate office has now offered to pay for any medical expenses incurred by the family following the incident.

‘We did tell Burger King that medical expenses was not enough,’ Floyd said to the New York Post.

‘My daughter has not eaten since this and my anxiety is through the roof and what if my daughter needs professional help from this?’

Burger King has released a statement following the disturbing incident.

‘We were deeply upset and concerned. We have been in contact with the Guest and are working with her to resolve this incident. This incident was the result of a team member in the restaurant who injured his finger, and upon noticing immediately stepped away.

‘We closed the restaurant to retrain all the team members and hired an external company to complete a deep cleaning,’ the company explained.

‘We expect the restaurant to re-open Monday and are fully paying team members for any lost shifts during this temporary shut down.’

That was quick. Only last week, I wrote in this space: 'The Conservatives fought a running battle over public sector pay during the past two years: I doubt Labour has an appetite for the strikes that approach provoked and a confrontation with the unions which fund their party so generously. They will pay up.' Lo
