An  Airbnb host was livid after a guest staying at her property requested she provide more toilet paper after less than two days on the property.

The Airbnb host known as Mrs Messy on TikTok recalled the story in a video she posted on the social media platform yesterday.

Mrs Messy revealed that one of the three guests staying at her place requested more toilet paper on the second day of their seven-day stay.

The TikToker explained that she keeps four toilet paper rolls in total, two for each bathroom in the Airbnb.

Mrs Messy bought the toilet paper after a heated discussion with the guest but did not expect what the guests did next.

Mrs Messy revealed that she only provides a ‘starter pack’ of essentials at her Airbnb.

Some of the things she includes in the Airbnb lodging total are hand soap, [dish] soap, four laundry detergent pods, 10 coffee bags, cream, sugar, and cleaning supplies.

‘The nightly price is below $100. You can’t get that price, even at the motel in Florida right by the beach in July,’ Mrs Messy wrote in reaction to the guest’s request.

‘What’s the problem to buy some toilet paper if you know that you are going to go through four rolls per day.’

Mrs Mess claimed he made a ‘big deal’ and despite her feelings, she drove 40 minutes to the Airbnb with 20 rolls of toilet paper and 40 minutes back.

After the guests vacated the short-term rental, Mrs Messy realized they had taken her toilet paper, sugar, bottles of hand soap, and more following the dispute over toilet tissue.

Toilet paper is one of the essential amenities for guests, according to Airbnb.

Other essential items listed on its website are soap, bed linens, and one towel and pillow for each guest.

Hosts can also ask their guests ahead of time if they need any more items.

Many TikTokers mentioned in the comment section they prefer hotels over Airbnbs – a frequent topic of debate over the years.

While Airbnbs sometimes have more attractive features than hotels, hotels may be the best option for those who prioritize room service and housekeeping.

Mrs Messy advised this warning for hotel stayers in the comment section: ‘Be careful because hotel cleaning staff only has 20 min per room.’

‘They don’t wash comforters unless they are stained, and they use one cloth for every surface,’ she added.

Commenters who were team Airbnb and team hotel shared their reasons as to why they’d choose to stay in one place over the other.

‘Team hotel. I don’t have to cook or clean, and no one knows or blasts me for how much toilet paper I use,’ a TikToker wrote.

A fired-up TikTok user wrote: ‘I would never expect more than just a starter of anything in an Airbnb. I’m so confused as to why people are so entitled and think all this should be provided for the entire stay.’

One commenter who claimed to be staying at an Airbnb suggested that Mrs Messy consider offering more than four rolls of toilet paper before travelers visit.

‘I think you should include more toilet paper. I’m sorry. I’m currently in an Airbnb and they included a lot,’ she wrote.
