PlayStation and Team Asobi are gearing up for Astro Bot’s release on September 6, which will give the quirky robot more planets to explore, more enemies to overcome, and a whole new set of skills to master. Considering Astro’s Playroom served as a brilliant (and free!) demonstration of the DualSense Controller’s unique features, it feels rather fitting that PlayStation has unveiled the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense Controller. Taking design cues from Astro Bot, the striking gamepad will go up for preorder on August 9 ahead of its September 6 release.

While it may boast a striking new design, this is your standard DualSense. That means you won’t get back buttons or customizable components as you would on the DualSense Edge, but it has all of the hallmarks that make the DualSense such a cool controller: haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a built-in microphone.

Preorders for the controller don’t open until August 9, but preorders for the Astro Bot game are now available. You’ll get some cool swag for reserving a copy ahead of time, including a bunch of in-game goodies and an adorable physical poster for your game room.

The Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense follows hot on the heels of the Concord Limited Edition DualSense. Based on the shooter of the same name, it gets you a black gamepad accented with red and blue stripes throughout the entire front faceplate. Like the upcoming Astro Bot controller, this one will only be available for a limited time.
