Ava Phillippe just made a major hair change!

On Tuesday, July 30, the model, 24, debuted her new hair color on Instagram. Phillippe — who is the daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe — has ditched her blonde locks in favor of dark brown shade. Her new look is courtesy of hair stylist Tucker Goodwine, who posted a before and after post on Instagram captioned: “took @avaphillippe BRUNETTE & I am so so here for it!! swipe for before. cut & color by meeee.”

In her own Instagram post, Phillippe rocked her new hairstyle with a red minidress featuring floral details and a pair of dark shades. “Time to see how the other half lives 💃🏻 #brunette,” she wrote in the caption.

Phillippe’s latest hair color change is receiving lots of love from her famous friends. Tommy Dorfman commented three times, writing “legendary,” “iconic” and “powerful.” Meanwhile, Dylan Mulvaney wrote, “OMGGGGGG 🔥🔥🔥,” while brunette Sasha Pieterse Sheaffer quipped, “We have fun too 😎.”

When it comes to switching up her hairstyles, Phillippe has always embraced change. The 24-year-old, who is the face of Vince Camuto’s new Wonderbloom campaign, recently told PEOPLE she enjoys trying new hair colors.

“I love just experimenting with what makes me feel good and what makes me feel like I’m having fun with my appearance and nobody else has to get it,” she said. “Just, this is what I want to do with myself. And it’s just hair. It grows back.”

In 2022, Phillippe went orange, and in March, she reflected on dyeing her hair pink. While chatting with PEOPLE about the Wonderbloom campaign she talked about the aforementioned look and doing her own dye job in high school.

She revealed, “I did dye my own hair with some hair dye that I got at the drugstore, and I was 14. I did it in my bathroom in the middle of the night and I didn’t tell my parents, which that was a funny thing to wake up to for them.”

Phillippe added that her famous mom “was very supportive about it.” She continued, “She was kind of, ‘Ooh, but you had such a pretty hair color.’ And I think she kind of saw how happy I was with it though, and was really supportive.”

As for whether there’s a hair color she won’t try, the model joked in a June TikTok that the one color she doesn’t see herself committing to is… her natural hue. In response to the question, she wrote on a video showing her natural light brown hair, “Yeah, my own.”

“Sorry it just doesn’t hit the same!!” she captioned her TikTok.
