Best Buy Has An Adorable Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Preorder Bonus

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom releases exclusively for Nintendo Switch on September 26. While you still have plenty of time to secure a preorder, you may not have as much time to get an adorable preorder bonus. If you preorder Echoes of Wisdom from Best Buy, you’ll get a free acrylic display stand featuring the game’s gorgeous cover art. Don’t worry, if you already preordered from Best Buy, the retailer will automatically add the bonus to your order. While placing your preorder at Best Buy, you should also check out the Hyrule Edition Nintendo Switch Lite that’s releasing alongside the game.

Alongside Echoes of Wisdom, Nintendo is launching a new Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch Lite console. The limited-edition console is available to preorder for $210 at Best Buy. If you aren’t able to get the Zelda-themed Switch Lite or simply want to save some cash, we’d recommend checking out the Animal Crossing-themed model at Walmart. This turquoise Switch Lite bundle comes with a copy of New Horizons and is on sale for $159 (was $199).

At this time, Best Buy is the only major retailer offering an exclusive preorder bonus for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom in the US. The acrylic display stand, as you can see above, is pretty darn cute. Retailers offer exclusive bonuses for first-party Switch games a few times each year, and this is arguably one of the best yet.

Echoes of Wisdom is a pivotal entry in the beloved Nintendo franchise. For the first time in the franchise’s nearly 40-year history, the namesake will finally step into the leading role. Well, it’s not technically the first time Zelda has been playable, but Nintendo would probably want fans to forget Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, one of the infamous Philips CD-i Zelda games, exists at all.

But Echoes of Wisdom is indeed the first traditional entry in the series to feature Zelda as the playable character. After Link becomes one of the many Hyrulians who find themselves pulled into a mysterious rift, it’s Princess Zelda’s turn to save the day. Echoes of Wisdom–a title that nods to Zelda’s ownership of the Triforce of Wisdom–makes use of the same vibrant visual style seen in the Switch version of Link’s Awakening, and it appears to offer a sprawling world for players to explore from a top-down perspective.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a throwback to pre-Breath of the Wild Zelda that retains the colorful visuals of Link’s Awakening. Unlike Link, Zelda doesn’t wield a trusty sword; she uses a newly acquired power called Echoe, which lets her create items that help you traverse Hyrule, overcome enemies, and solve puzzles. Echoes allow you to replicate NPCs who will then fight on your behalf or help you solve puzzles.

Nintendo has stated players will have different experiences based on how they approach using Echoes. In this way, Echoes of Wisdom is similar to Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, especially the latter, which implemented a robust building tool called Ultrahand that encouraged players to experiment to solve puzzles, explore the world, and defeat enemies. Though Echoes of Wisdom, as a top-down Zelda game, understandably won’t be as dynamic, it’s cool to see the melding of classic Zelda with the modern approach to the franchise. Check out the latest Echoes of Wisdom trailer for a closer look at its take on Hyrule.
