Her stylish West Village townhouse has just listed for sale—but Native New Yorker Claire Danes doesn’t plan on going far.

Danes—the 45-year-old actress who has long dazzled audiences with her performances in “My So-Called Life,” “Romeo + Juliet” and in Showtime’s “Homeland,” in which she played a CIA agent with bipolar disorder—has listed her West Village townhouse for $9.75 million, according to a StreetEasy listing update on Wednesday.

News of the Downing Street home hitting the market  was first reported by the New York Times.

It’s the residence Danes shares with her husband, the British actor Hugh Dancy, who has held acclaimed roles in the television series “Hannibal” and the play “Apologia.”

While expecting their first son in 2012, the couple purchased the four-bedroom spread for $6.87 million, according to city property records. After that deal, they then welcomed two more children.

The Times notes the pair is now in need of more space as their children grow—as well as space for their extended family, who enjoy making visits. They intend on staying downtown.

An 1880s Greek Revival house measuring 3,890 square feet, the couple thoroughly modernized its interiors with major help from Joan Krevlin, a founding partner of BKSK Architects.

“Claire grew up in lofts, and her heart was in loft living,” Krevlin told the Times. “The home they were choosing to make was a townhouse, intentionally, but there were characteristics of a loft that were very important to her.”

While the couple traveled for work, Krevlin lived in the home.

Her work included opening and brightening the spaces, particularly on the ground floor—and creating flow between the living and eating spaces. Krevlin’s designs also included moving the kitchen to the back of the townhouse from the front; the installation of a glass wall and glass bricks in the ceiling help flood this space with natural light.

“It’s been incredibly well modernized, while still preserving its original West Village charm,” listing representative Tamer Howard, of Corcoran, told the Times. “It’s a really happy, romantic, special place.”

Listing images show a lipstick-red entry door, which leads to airy and neutral-tone interiors accented with period fireplaces. A wet bar stands next to build-in bookshelves—and the 4.5 bathrooms are their own retreats, some of which are adorned with wallpaper.

There’s a lush terrace off the kitchen. Up at the tippy-top of the townhouse, there’s a roof terrace with an outdoor kitchen, a pizza oven and views stretching to One World Trade.
