A decomposing body was discovered in a shed after a dog dropped a human head on the sidewalk in California — then walked away with it, according to police. Officers from the Fresno Police Department responded to a call from a person who reported seeing the dog drop the skull near Nicholas and Florence Avenues

A decomposing body was discovered in a shed after a dog dropped a human head on the sidewalk in California — then walked away with it, according to police.

Officers from the Fresno Police Department responded to a call from a person who reported seeing the dog drop the skull near Nicholas and Florence Avenues on Thursday morning, KMPH reported.

Police found the putrefying body in a shed about a block away, police said.

The dog took the head and carried it off, according to police.

The death does not appear to be a homicide, however the coroner’s office will determine the cause of death, Fresno police said.

The Fresno Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
