A terrified homeowner is searching for answers after a bizarre microwave glitch made it sound like a ghost is living inside the appliance.

A TikTok user who goes by the name of Cecil posted  video Wednesday night about the strange noises coming out of her GE microwave, which began after she flipped the circuit breaker.

‘I’m minding my own business in my kitchen, and a man starts singing to me from my microwave,’ Cecil wrote.

Cecil did not clarify what microwave she owned, but one person claimed it was the GE Spacemaker XL Over-the-Range Microwave Oven.

She says this is the third time she’s heard the mysterious glitch after flipping the breaker switch, and other TikTokers have made guesses as to what the ‘singing man’ really is.

Cecil felt ‘lucky’ to get the microwave glitch on camera after she missed it the first two times.

The homeowner revealed her microwave sounded like a ‘man in distress’ the first time it glitched and a ‘man’s voice and some creepy sounds’ during the second.

‘I legitimately want someone to tell me what is happening because we are so freaked out,’ Cecil wrote.

The GE Spacemaker XL Over-the-Range Microwave Oven was discontinued by the manufacturer.

One of its notable features was a message center, which allows anyone to record a short message.

Before she recorded the video, Celia pressed the message button, but it didn’t help her solve the microwave mystery.

‘We pressed it, and nothing. No messages on there. I don’t know if we are somehow getting someone’s signal, and it’s playing it over the speaker,’ Celia wrote.

‘It’s not a radio station; it sounds like a man in his house.’

Microwaves usually become noisy because of a faulty internal component, according to HomeServe.

There are five common noises that can determine if a microwave is working properly: Buzzing, clicking, grinding, humming, and screaming.

The two noises the microwave ‘man’ made in Cecil’s microwave could fall under the humming, and screaming categories.

A humming noise from a microwave as a sign of a worn-out diode, which controls the flow of electricity in one direction and restricts it in the other, which stops the microwave from generating heat.

Homeowners whose microwaves are screaming or screeching would likely be dealing with a worn-out magnetron, which produces electromagnetic waves that cook food.

A worn-out magnetron is a common problem, and it can wear out with age and the frequency of microwave use.

Although a good microwave cleaning could help solve some problems, experts advise individuals to call a professional to diagnose and fix it.

A few TikTok users did not believe Cecil and one person had questions about the kitchen and the appliance.

‘If your breaker is cut off in your kitchen, then why do you still have power in your microwave? Why isn’t the door open to the microwave? This is purely a hoax,’ wrote a TikToker.

Several TikTok users have jokingly guessed what the microwave ‘sang,’ two of them being “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo and “The Man” by Aloe Blacc.

A few TikTokers also recalled stories about paranormal experiences, one involving a microwave.

‘One time, this happened to my mom and nephew when we just moved to our new house,’ recalled a TikToker.

‘I saw them run out scared. Then, we disconnected the microwave the whole time we lived there.’
