Did Ben Affleck Just Buy a Los Angeles Mansion for $20.5M?

It appears as if Ben Affleck has moved on.

According to TMZ, the Oscar winner has picked up a $20.5 million mansion in Los Angeles. Blair Chang with The Agency represented the seller, and Santiago Arana with The Agency represented the buyer. Both agents declined to comment.

If Affleck did buy a lavish L.A. home of his own, the transaction took place just weeks after he and Jennifer Lopez officially listed their marital mansion in Beverly Hills for $68 million.

Amid the rumors of the couple’s relationship woes, Affleck’s pricey purchase would seem to add an exclamation point to the speculation.

The five-bedroom mansion sits on two-thirds of an acre and was listed in May for $20.5 million. It was sold on July 24 for that exact amount.

“It’s the highest price per square foot closing on the Westside so far this year,” Chang noted on Instagram.

The “Good Will Hunting” star must appreciate the area. He had picked up a bachelor pad in nearby Pacific Palisades in 2018 for $19 million; in 2020, he listed it for $30 million, eventually selling it in 2022.

Reimagined residence

The Los Angeles mansion was built in 1941 and designed by architect Cliff May. It has since been reimagined by architect Steve Giannetti with interior design by Kelly Harmon.

The 6,247-square-foot interior features an open floor plan with wood-beamed ceilings and garden views. The primary suite has a fireplace and access to the gardens. Upstairs, there’s an office with a fireplace. A two-story guesthouse is included

This property comes with stables, a walking ring, and a tack room. Outdoor amenities include a pool with spa.

The location is close to the Brentwood Country Mart and Sunset Boulevard.

However, what really might appeal to the publicity-averse movie star is this: The “garden retreat” is billed as an “ultimate private and luxurious setting.”

Beverly Hills megamansion

The Los Angeles mansion is on the small side compared with the lavish estate Affleck and Lopez purchased together just last year for $60.8 million.

Known as Crestview Manor, it spans 38,000 square feet and was recently renovated.

The expanded estate features 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a fitness complex with a boxing ring and sport courts, and a 12-car garage and parking for 80 vehicles. There’s also a separate 5,000-square-foot guesthouse, a caretaker’s house, and a two-bedroom guardhouse.

The couple’s marital mansion in Beverly Hills is still on the market for $68 million.
