Dominic Fike and Hunter Schafer dated for more than a year before calling it quits.

Fike confirmed the breakup in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, which was published in July 2023. He told the outlet that he’s a “relationship person” who feels “uncomfortable being alone.”

“That’s a bad thing. So I decided to just be alone for a while,” Fike added.

In May 2022, the “3 Nights” singer opened up to GQ about the speed at which he fell in love with Schafer.

“In those moments, your relationship is accelerated,” Fike said about filming their intense Euphoria scenes. “Because you’re so vulnerable with someone, immediately. Which usually takes a long time. Some people fall in love, like, f—ing months after they meet, or years after. We developed an attraction — it sped it up so fast. We just really got to know each other so quickly.”

In a GQ profile published on May 30, Fike publicly opened up about Schafer for the first time as he recalled falling in love with the actress on the set of Euphoria.

In a separate interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the actor reiterated that he’s “done being in relationships right now” due to his struggle with codependency. He went on to speak optimistically about filming Euphoria season 3 with Schafer.

“I think it’ll be fine. We’re all adults, kind of. I’m trying,” Fike said.

During an appearance on Call Her Daddy, Schafer explained that her breakup from Fike was “mutually agreed upon” and a “clean parting” despite rumors that claimed otherwise.

“It was one of the cleaner breakups I’ve had. He has a lot to work on, and I also have a lot to work on,” she said. “We had a really good thing, but there were things in our own selves that had nothing to do with each other that kept coming up.”

Schafer added: ” It was so, so hard because we really loved each other. He’s a really special person, and I love his soul and everything.”
