Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake kept up a family tradition by buying her 19-year-old son a 12-gauge shotgun – after gifting his older sister a handgun this spring.

Lake, a gun enthusiast who has urged supporters to ‘strap on a Glock’ for 2024, purchased the firearm for her son Leo in time for dove season, which begins in September in her hotly-contested state.

‘It warms this mama’s heart that my son has taken a liking to the sport of hunting. He’s a great shot with Jeff’s shotgun, but we’ve decided it’s time for him to have one to call his own,’ she told DailyMail.com, referencing her husband Jeff Halperin.

‘As a United States Senator, I will do everything in my power to preserve and protect our sacred 2nd Amendment so that every American, Leo included, can not only enjoy a day in the field hunting, but can also protect themselves against anyone that might threaten their safety,’ she added.

Lake and her husband bought the shotgun at the Casa Grande Gun show, where Lake also browsed through tables of handguns and and wielded an axe.

This spring, she bought daughter Ruby a 9mm Sig Sauer P365-XL Comp handgun as she turned 21, saying her ‘baby girl is growing up.’

That was the same month Lake told supporters to ‘strap on Glock’ for a 2024 year she said predicted would be ‘crazy’ and be ‘intense.’

‘The next six months is going to be intense,’she told a rally crowd in Lake Havasu City.

‘We’re going to strap on our seatbelt. We’re going to put on our helmet — or your Kari Lake ball cap. We are going to put on the armor of God. And maybe strap on a Glock on the side of us just in case.’

‘You can put one heater and one in the back or one in the front, whatever you guys decide,’ she said.

Lake, a former broadcaster who was defeated in her 2022 bid for governor, has been narrowly trailing Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego in polling for the Arizona Senate race.

They are battling for the seat being vacated by Democrat-turned-independent Kyrsten Sinema.

EXCLUSIVEThe night Kamala Harris met Sharon Stone’s ex husband Phil Bronstein in a back-room San Francisco bar – and what happened after that

Is Sharon Stone’s ex-husband one of Kamala Harris’s former flames? That question is suddenly consuming political circles as the vice president looks increasingly likely to be the next Commander-in-Chief. The rumors have been around for years but, unlike her flings with Willie Brown and Montel Williams, they have never been proven one way or the
