France‘s 5ft7in president Emmanuel Macron is nearly impossible to spot in a group picture of world leaders in Paris for the Olympic Games.

Macron along his wife Brigitte held a reception at the Elysee Palace for his fellow heads of state, royals and government from across the world today before the games began.

Those in attendance include Prime Minister Keir Starmer, America’s First Lady Jill Biden, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco, King Felipe of Spain, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium.

Other guests include President Paul Biya of Cameroon and his wife Chantal, Argentinia’s President Javier Milei,  Qatar‘s Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and his wife Sheikha, Bhutan’s Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck and Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.

Ex-swimmer Princess Charlene of Monaco, who competed in the Olympic Games 24 years ago, was the image of glamour in a dusky pastel jumpsuit, teamed with a silver clutch and heels. She styled her short blonde tresses into a chic updo.

Elsewhere her husband Albert, 66, made a statement in a colourful rouge jacket with a striped tie to match.

Queen Mary of Denmark stood out in a white gown and red blazer – as her husband opted for a navy suit.

Queen Mathilde and King Philippe of Belgium too looked dapper ahead of the festivities.

The mother-of-four opted for a bright red button-up dress, which she paired with vibrant red stilettos.

The Olympic Games have officially begun this evening and it will be the first time in the history of the event that it has not been held inside a stadium.

Instead, it will take place outside of a closed stadium, with Paris to host a never before seen water parade for the Olympics.
