A Democratic Alabama lawmaker targeted GOP Representative Katie Britt with a sex slur as she attempted to defend Vice-President Kamala Harris.
Juandalynn Givan lashed out at those suggesting that Harris had slept her way to success.
‘You have fools out there that think this woman got to where she is by laying on her back,’ Rep. Juandalynn Givan said of Harris.
‘Did Katie Britt lay on hers to get to the (U.S.) Senate?’ No way has (Harris) had to lay on her back to get to where she is.’
Britt is a US Republican senator from Alabama. There’s no suggestion she owes her career to anything other than hard work, with Givan likely just using her name to prove a point.
Her comments came amid reports the Vice-President was romantically involved with a married politician who was separated from his wife while she was single.

Her comments came in response to published reports that Harris romanced a married male politician decades ago when she was single and he was separated from his wife.
Harris dated San Francisco’s first black mayor Willie Brown in the 1990s. He is 31 years Harris’ senior and she was his ‘constant companion’ on the campaign trail. They met while he was 60 and Harris was 29.
Harris has struggled to shirk her association with Brown, whom she has described as ‘an albatross hanging around my neck’.
She has been married to Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff since 2014.
Givan also defended the Vice President against critiques about her past relationships.
‘At the end of the day, words matter,’ Givan said during her News4 interview this week. ‘Don’t let (words) be anything you don’t want your mother, sister, or auntie to be.’

Married mom-of-two Britt, 42, became the youngest woman elected to the Senate in 2022.
Givan did not suggest Britt had done anything untoward to earn her success.
The Alabama junior senator has long been viewed as a rising star in the Republican party.
She rose to new prominence after delivering the response to the president’s State of the Union speech.
However her performance was savaged on SNL, where actress Scarlett Johansson ridiculed her as the ‘craziest b**** in the Target parking lot.’
