Holly Willoughby appears to be struggling to become the ‘new Gwyneth Paltrow‘.

While the Hollywood star has enjoyed success with her company Goop, Holly’s own wellness and lifestyle brand Wylde Moon has just £1,885 in reserves – almost three years after it was set up.

Accounts reveal that although the company has assets of £585,633, it owes creditors £583,748 – meaning it is only just staying in the black.

Selling exotic candles, ‘wax melts’ and ‘diffusers’, the brand has been compared to Goop, the brand launched by Oscar-winning Hollywood actress Paltrow in 2008 and has been valued at £200million.

Holly, who used to present ITV‘s This Morning with Phillip Schofield, is prominent in the firm’s online marketing, posing on the website.

While Holly’s brand may not be financially flourishing, it’s an improvement from accounts filed in October 2023 that showed it had a mere £149 in assets.

The 2023 micro accounts indicated that there was over £283,000 in assets but creditors are owed £310,000.

Holly launched her Goop-esque lifestyle brand in September 2021 and it currently sells candles and perfume.

The site contains beauty and style advice and a section on spirituality where readers are advised on crystals, healing and auras.

The TV presenter said that the idea to launch her own lifestyle brand came to her in 2018 when she was in Australia hosting I’m A Celebrity alongside Declan Donnelly.

She said: ‘I’ve always been fascinated with the moon, space, shooting stars and looking up.

‘On holiday, I spend more time on the sun lounger at night than during the day. The moon is always there – like the sun– no matter where you are in the world.

‘I’d lost a part of who I was and that rediscovery has led me here, to a whole new place of beauty and power.’

The news of its current assets comes after the TV star bravely spoke out after the trial of a man found guilty of plotting to abduct, rape and murder her.

She thanked the police and her legal team who brought obsessive stalker Gavin Plumb to justice last month, before he was given a life sentence behind bars with a minimum term of 15 years.

The star released a statement less than two hours after he was convicted in which she also praised the security guard’s previous female victims after their evidence helped find him guilty.

Holly, 43, who was acclaimed by police for her courage, said: ‘As women we should not be made to feel unsafe going about our daily lives and in our own homes.

‘I will forever be grateful to the undercover police officer who understood the imminent threat, and to the Metropolitan and Essex police forces for their swift response.

‘Thank you to the Crown Prosecution Service, the Rt Hon Mr Justice Murray, Alison Morgan KC, the members of the jury and all involved in this case for ensuring that justice was done and that the defendant will not be able to harm any more women.

‘I would also like to commend the bravery of his previous victims for speaking up at the time. Without their bravery this conviction may not have been possible.’

Plumb, 37, claimed he wasn’t physically capable of abducting the former This Morning presenter, had no one qualified to drive to her London home, and that vile conversations he had with ‘like-minded’ people in dark recesses of the internet were ‘just online chat’.

But a jury took 12 hours and 19 minutes to find him guilty after being presented with a raft of shocking evidence, including a chloroform restraint kit that he planned to use it to kidnap Ms Willoughby.

He then planned to take the TV presenter to an isolated stud farm for sexual torture, kill her and dump her body in a lake.

The defendant, who weighed up to 30 stone and adopted the user name Big Bear to chat to others about his plot online, appeared to formulate his fantasy as early as 2011 – Googling the phrase ‘how to meet people who plan to kidnap celebs’.

Plumb has previous convictions for trying to kidnap two women on trains and tying a 16-year-old girl up at knifepoint.

Willoughby waived her right to anonymity in connection with an accusation against Plumb of assisting or encouraging rape.

Alleged victims of sex offences or targets of sex offence conspiracies have a right to automatic anonymity for life from the moment an allegation is made by them or anyone else.

Holly has been hosting Dancing On Ice 2024 and will also present a Netflix show, for release next year, in which adventurer Bear Grylls hunts celebrities in the jungle.
