A ‘friendly’ elderly man is in hospital with serious injuries after allegedly being viciously bashed by two men in a Hungry Jack’s car park.
Two men, aged 21 and 22, have been arrested over the shocking incident, which was captured on CCTV.
The brutal scenes unfolded outside the Hungry Jack’s restaurant in the northern Perth suburb of Jindalee at about 3.15am on Friday.
The injured man, who is in his 70s and had been sleeping on the streets, was rushed to hospital following the attack.
The man remains in Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries. He is currently in a stable condition in the trauma unit.
The alleged attackers, who were reportedly not known to their victim, fled the scene in a silver sedan from the Cockleshell Brace area.
Police revealed they had arrested two suspects at a home in the nearby suburb of Butler on Friday afternoon.

Locals described the bashing victim as a friendly gentleman who walks around the area collecting cans.
While police gathered evidence, the Hungry Jack’s ca rpark was cordoned off.
