Lauryn Goodman tried to hijack Kyle Walker‘s Euro 2024 celebrations by forcing the England footballer to appear in court just 12 hours after the final was due to end.
The Three Lions played Spain in Berlin in an 8pm kick-off, and Goodman attempted to get Walker in court in London for 10am the next morning – whatever the result.
In the end, England lost the match 2-1, but Goodman’s bid meant that Walker would have been unable to celebrate with the squad had the team won on July 14.
Unknown to fans, their last court showdown over maintenance support to the children he fathered with Goodman was scheduled for the Monday. Walker’s legal team had asked to adjourn the case by one day, but Goodman’s lawyers objected.
They wrote: ‘He cannot now ask for what is essentially permission to celebrate or commiserate with his teammates. That is no reason to adjourn a hearing.’

But Judge Edward Hess did not agree with this argument, and he put the two-day hearing back by 24 hours to the Tuesday morning.
The footballer, who has four children with wife Annie Kilner, 32, was embroiled in a paternity scandal earlier this year when it emerged that he had fathered a daughter with Goodman – four years after they had a son together.
Kilner kicked him out of the marital mansion in Cheshire and he is now renting a property nearby with the marriage on the rocks.
The scandal cast a shadow over Walker’s Euros campaign with his ex-mistress also travelling to the tournament with their son.
This was said to have infuriated Kilner who was also in the stadium with her children for the match against Serbia.
Walker appeared at the Central Family Court in London earlier this month in a dispute with Goodman over the amount of money he should pay to support their one-year-old daughter, Kinara.

Goodman, 33, asked the court to order that Walker pay £14,750 a month in ‘global’ child maintenance for the pair’s two children, as well as tens of thousands for cars, furnishing and property maintenance and other costs such as nursery fees.
The Manchester City defender, who also has four sons with Kilner, opposed some of the demands or argued they should be decreased, telling the court that he was not an ‘open-ended chequebook’ despite earning between £3 million and £5 million per year.
In his ruling, Judge Hess dismissed many of Ms Goodman’s demands, concluding that she was ‘not reliable’ while claiming Mr Walker ‘acted with dignity and generosity’.
The press was restricted from reporting on the case during the hearing, but Judge Hess ruled that the restrictions should be lifted today.
