LATEST NEWS
10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST
RHP Ian Hamilton (right lat strain)
Expected return: August/September
Hamilton is scheduled to throw a high-intensity bullpen session on Aug. 6, which represents a new step in his recovery from the June 16 injury. He would still need to advance to facing hitters in live batting practice, then pitch in Minor League games. Hamilton resumed his throwing program during the week of July 7 after dealing with a more minor version of the same injury earlier in the season. (Last updated: Aug. 3)
C Jose Trevino (left quad strain)
Expected return: August/September
Trevino, who was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left quad strain on July 14, is “doing better than probably we anticipated,” manager Aaron Boone said on July 19, noting that Trevino has already started a running progression. He was throwing at Yankee Stadium on July 18.
“We’ve been encouraged by the first several days of this,” Boone said.
Trevino injured his left quadriceps while running the bases on July 12 at Baltimore. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on July 13 and underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the strain. (Last updated: July 19)
60-DAY INJURED LIST
1B Anthony Rizzo (right forearm fracture)
Expected return: August/September
Rizzo performed some fielding work on Aug. 2 at Yankee Stadium, and he has also been swinging a bat lightly. Manager Aaron Boone said on Aug. 3 that Rizzo “still has a ways to go, but it’s encouraging that he’s swinging a bat now, not full bore.” Rizzo is recovering from an injury sustained on June 16 in Boston, when he collided with pitcher Brennan Bernardino. INF Jon Berti (left calf strain)
Expected return: August/September
Berti is back to running at approximately 80 percent as he recovers from a setback sustained in Tampa, Fla., during the All-Star break, and manager Aaron Boone said on Aug. 3 that Berti is “trending back in a good direction.” Berti received a second platelet-rich plasma injection on July 20.
Berti, who was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 12, was told to expect a recovery time of approximately six to eight weeks after he was injured on May 24 as he ran toward first base. He was placed on the 10-day IL the following day and received a PRP injection on May 28. (Last updated: Aug. 3)
RHP Clarke Schmidt (right lat strain)
Expected return: August/September
Schmidt is scheduled to throw his first live batting practice session on Aug. 6. He threw approximately 20 pitches from a bullpen mound on July 20 at Yankee Stadium without any problems. It marked his first time throwing from a mound since a May 26 start at San Diego.
“I asked [Clarke] how it went, and he said, ‘Pretty nasty,’” manager Aaron Boone said. “Everything went well. It was a good step for him.”
Schmidt has said that he expects to be fully built up by the end of the season. He resumed his throwing program on June 24 following a May 29 MRI, taken after he reported difficulty bouncing back from his most recent start. He was examined by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on May 30. Schmidt was placed on the 15-day injured list prior to the club’s May 30 game, retroactive to May 27. He was transferred to the 60-day injured list on June 18. (Last updated: Aug. 2)

Expected return: August
Poteet was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Aug. 1. Poteet was scheduled to throw his second full bullpen on July 25, according to the New York Daily News, a session that was to span 20 to 25 pitches. Poteet last pitched on June 12 at Kansas City. (Last updated: Aug. 2)
RHP Clayton Beeter (right shoulder discomfort; No. 13 on Yankees top prospects list)
Expected return: 2025
Beeter’s season is in jeopardy due to a right shoulder issue, general manager Brian Cashman said on July 9. Beeter is scheduled to see Dr. Keith Meister to determine the next steps in his treatment. Beeter last pitched for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 15. He was moved to the 60-day injured list on July 23. (Last updated: July 23)
RHP JT Brubaker (recovery from Tommy John surgery, oblique strain)
Expected return: Possibly September
Brubaker sustained an oblique injury while making a fielding play during his July 11 Minor League rehab start for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and has been shut down from baseball activities. He is not expected to resume throwing until mid- to late August. The injury interrupts Brubaker’s recovery from Tommy John surgery performed on April 12, 2023. He was acquired from the Pirates on March 29. (Last updated: July 21)
RHP Lou Trivino (recovery from Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: Summer 2024
Trivino has resumed throwing from a mound following a bout of right elbow inflammation that stalled his progress in April. He visited with the Yankees on July 11 at Tropicana Field.
“Trivino is doing a lot better,” manager Aaron Boone said. “I can see some energy as far as how he’s feeling and the fact that he’s on the mound.”
At the time of the injury, Trivino was seen by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, as well as team doctors, who performed imaging and confirmed no damage to the pitcher’s ulnar collateral ligament. Trivino is recovering from Tommy John surgery performed on May 3, 2023. (Last updated: July 11)
OF Everson Pereira (right UCL tear; No. 5 on the Yankees top prospects list)
Expected return: 2025
Pereira underwent reconstructive Tommy John surgery with an internal brace in early June, manager Aaron Boone said on June 14. Pereira had been playing through the injury at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, last appearing for the RailRiders on May 14. Boone said Pereira’s injury was “unfortunate,” but that similar to Jasson Domínguez, it is one the organization expects him to bounce back from. “This isn’t something that’s going to hurt his career too much,” Boone said. “He should come back full strength from this.” (Last updated: June 15)
RHP Jonathan Loáisiga (right UCL tear)
Expected return: 2025
Loáisiga said on April 6 that he has a torn UCL and needs season-ending surgery. Dr. Keith Meister will perform the procedure, which Loáisiga said has an estimated recovery time of 10 to 12 months. Loáisiga was placed on the 60-day injured list on April 5, retroactive to April 4. (Last updated: April 6)
