Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.

Things are looking up for us fall fashion gals — Jennifer Lawrence says, er, dresses, so.

On Saturday, August 10, The Hunger Games star, 33, stepped out in a red ’fit that spared me from some of the summer fabrics and details I’ve since grown jaded of. On top, she wore a button-up shirt, which Nicole Kidman and Meghan Markle are also fond of lately, and she teamed it with a pair of corduroy pants.

She also sidelined her mesh ballet flats for a closed-toe pair of suede slip-ons that weren’t quite fur-lined like Uggs but were still most definitely a step in the right fall footwear direction.

Jennifer Lawrence steps out in bright red for a spa trip in New York City on August 10, 2024.

It’s not that I hate summer dresses or tank tops, it’s just that I’m always hungry to be wrapped up in layers upon layers like menswear-inspired blazers, posh trench coats, and button-ups like this one. They’re cool enough to wear in the heat —  I just recently traveled in one — but I don’t excessively sweat in them when I’ve got a leather jacket or big puffer on.

Also, you know when you take off your warm jacket after being out in the cold, and you get a little chill? Yeah, I hate that feeling. Button-ups, though, are a nice little blanket of protection. This cherry shirt is a fun switch-up from a common white or blue one. Plus, with the way things are shaping up, red could even be the new color of the season.

Corduroy pants always fall off my fall outfit map, but why? They help pack in the heat and have a soft texture that’s different from denim or a flat pattern. Plus, they’re not in a totally different price range. This pair that’s baggier, for example, is $41, while these joggers are going for $30. TL;DR: Whether wide-leg, flared, or more casual, they’re all under $45. Also, Jennifer Garner is a fan of corduroy, too.

Playing with one fall texture wasn’t enough for J.Law, so it’s not going to be enough for me either. I like that these suede clogs look a bit heavier duty than hers, and many shoppers even compared them to Birkenstocks, which I have yet to get: “I practically live in my Birkenstock sandals but was unsure how I’d feel about the clogs and wanted to test them out before buying the real version,” said one shopper. “At this point, I’m not sure I will because these are perfect.”

Horrors of Stalin’s genocide by starvation: How desperate parents cooked and ate their children’s corpses to stay alive before ‘losing their mind’ during dictator’s ‘man-made’ Holodomor famine that left millions dead in Ukraine

Nearly four million people died of starvation in Ukraine in the early 1930s during a horrifying man-made famine that has irreparably scarred the fabric of Ukrainian society - but few today even know its name. The Holodomor was once judged a 'classic example' of genocide by Raphael Lemkin, the Polish lawyer who coined the term
