The Joker has been the main subject of some wild stories, but nothing can prepare you for the recent three-volume limited manga series. These Joker manga books imagine the clown prince of crime taking on his greatest challenge yet: raising baby Batman.

We swear we’re not making this up, as the manga series starts off with Batman accidentally falling into the same vat of chemicals that created the Joker that one fateful night, and transforming back into a wee baby. Again, we promise that this is not an elaborate joke, and if you want to read it, you can grab all three volumes at a discount on Amazon.

This is real, trust us.

The twist here is that the Joker decides to raise Batman so that he can have his favorite arch-nemesis back in action, but he quickly discovers that fatherhood is more difficult than he imagined it to be. Things only get weirder from here, and this is one manga series that you’ll want to go into with as little information as possible. Something else worth mentioning here is the art, as the creative team of Satoshi Miyagawa and Keisuke Gotou’s take on the Joker looks wonderfully chaotic and malevolent when he’s not busy changing Bat-Baby’s bat-diapers.

If you’d prefer a few traditional options for Joker stories ahead of the release of Joker 2 in October, there are some great options available. Several Joker solo series will be released soon, including his new origin story in Batman: The Joker Year One and his most bizarre caper yet in Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing.

You can also check out a selection of other exciting DC Comics releases below. The publisher is rolling out some must-read trade paperbacks and massive compendiums over the next few months, including two DC Versus Marvel omnibus editions and a truly enormous omnibus of Batman: Arkham comics.
