A taped segment with Vice President Kamala Harris will be featured on the “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season finale on Friday—marking her first known major TV appearance since President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race and endorsed Harris for president.

Key Facts

A promotional clip was filmed prior to Biden leaving the presidential race, Deadline reported, but when it airs Friday it will be the first time since she has taken over the Democratic ticket that Harris appears on a TV program, though she has spoken in televised rallies and other events.

She encouraged people to register to vote, saying “we are all in this together and your vote is your power so please make sure your voice is heard this November.”

Harris appeared in the clip with comedian Leslie Jones, singer and personality Michelle Visage, choreographer Jamal Sims, singer Lance Bass and actor and singer Cheyenne Jackson.

Harris did not mention Trump in the brief promotional clip shared Thursday.

Crucial Quote

“Each day we are seeing our rights and freedom under attack, including the rights of everyone to be who they are, love who they love, openly and with pride,” Harris said in a promotional clip released Thursday.

How To Watch Harris’ Appearance?

The season finale of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season nine is set to start streaming on Friday on Paramount+.

Surprising Fact

While she is the first vice president to be on the show, Harris is not the first politician. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared on “Drag Race” twice—once in 2018 and once in 2022—Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., guest judged in 2020 and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared on Canada’s Drag Race in 2022.

Key Background

Harris launched her presidential bid Sunday after Biden announced he would be ending his reelection campaign. She immediately garnered support and energy from the Democratic Party, gaining enough electoral votes after just two days to clinch the presidential nomination. Harris has long been a supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and was one of the first elected officials to back marriage equality publicly in 2004 when she officiated same-sex weddings on Valentine’s Day as a district attorney, The 19th reported. After announcing her presidential run, Harris also quickly secured the endorsements of LGBTQ+ organizations like the Human Rights Campaign, Advocates for Trans Equality and more.
