Is there such a thing as too much publicity?
A spectacular 19,000-square-foot estate that hit the market this month in Oklahoma City might have experienced exactly that. Listed for $17,250,000 and teeming with top-tier amenities, the home quickly became a social media sensation.
Listing agent Wyatt Poindexter, of The Agency, removed it from the multiple listing service (MLS) after receiving far more curious requests for showings than inquiries from serious buyers.
But we can certainly understand the curiosity.
“I have been in the house 10 or 15 times; and every time, I see something different,” Poindexter says. “It’s quite the property.”
It’s also quite the price. While publicly listed, the property topped the city’s listings as its most expensive residence and was the state’s second priciest listing.
The megamansion boasts a list of over-the-top luxuries that range from a dual-lane bowling alley to a golf-driving balcony.
This opulent, eight-bedroom estate also features a collection of custom-curated furniture from all over the world. With a few exclusions, most of the furnishings come with the house.
Entertainment barn
One of the 36-acre property’s highlights is its 32,000-square-foot “barn.”
You won’t find horses there, though. Instead, the place is outfitted with a dance floor, performance stage, an elevator, two luxury bedroom suites, and “33 oversized car garages” to showcase a personal auto collection.
“The owner spent $6 million on the barn alone, and they have had big-name performers play there,” Poindexter says. “It’s rated to hold 2,500 people and has a commercial kitchen, multiple bars, and car collections. It’s like nothing I have ever seen.”
According to KOCO 5 News, the home is owned by Kenny Novotny, who was featured in two seasons of Bravo’s hit show “Below Deck Mediterranean.”
The owner’s close friend, NBA star Desmond Mason, is now a professional artist whose creations are displayed throughout the home.
“He designed many things in the house, including the handpainted works on the walls of the bowling alley,” Poindexter says. “In the barn, there is a stage that looks almost like a church with stained glass.”
The dual-lane bowling alley is a stunner in itself.
“He spent about $300,000 to $400,000 creating it,” Poindexter says. “It has custom balls, custom jerseys, and shoes designed to fit anyone and everyone.”
And if one of the many bars looks familiar, that’s because it was designed to replicate a local favorite.
“He recreated the bar to resemble Eskimo Joe’s,” Poindexter notes.
Other jaw-dropping amenities include a golf-driving balcony, a heated and cooled dog room with beds and lockers—all adjacent to a private backyard area, and a kid’s gaming room with fireman’s pole that leads down to the kitchen.
Outdoor perks
The gated property boasts a 70,000-gallon pool with a grotto and hot tub, an outdoor kitchen, a stocked pond with more than 200 koi fish, and indoor and outdoor basketball courts.
“When we were talking about a launch party, the seller said there is enough parking for 250 cars,” Poindexter reveals. “We had an event with about 600 people, and it felt like 50.”
If this seems like a lot of property to maintain, don’t worry—the new homeowner won’t have to go it alone. There is a full-time, live-in house manager who could stay on for the next buyer, according to the listing agent.
The place is also convenient to plenty of recreational attractions.
“The property is very close to Draper Lake with bike trails, hiking, and fishing,” Poindexter says.
And while it has been a primary residence for Novotny, the massive spread could also be used as a secondary retreat—particularly for a professional athlete.
“I have received calls from California from people wanting to fly in and look at it,” Poindexter says. “It could go to an Oklahoma City Thunder player or another athlete. A corporation could also use it as an event center. The sky’s really the limit when it comes to entertaining here.”
