A woman has been killed after she was struck by a car in Sydney’s south. The woman, aged in her 60s, was walking when she was hit near the intersection of Forest Road and Pritchard Place at Peakhurst at about 5.45pm on Friday. A woman has been killed after she was struck by a car in Sydney‘s south.

The woman, aged in her 60s, was walking when she was hit near the intersection of Forest Road and Pritchard Place at Peakhurst at about 5.45pm on Friday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following frantic calls about the incident, which involved a 4WD

‘Despite the efforts of first responders, the pedestrian – a woman believed to be aged in her 60s – died at the scene,’ NSW Police said in a statement.

The driver of the 4WD, a man in his 40s, was taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing.

Specialist police arrived to the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.

Two of three lanes on Forest Rd have been closed westbound leading up to Pritchard Pl, with motorists being urged to avoid the area.

Long delays are expected and drivers are being told to be cautious in the area.
