Trump Tower in Chicago has found itself as the unconventional home for a series of anti-Trump messaging.

Late last night, the Democratic National Committee ( DNC) beamed anti-Trump/Vance messages onto the side of the 92-story skyscraper — a day before the Democratic Convention kicked off in Chicago.

The content of the messages projected onto the tower were varied. One branded the 58-story building as “Project 2025 HQ.” Project 2025 has been billed as “wish list” policy that the next Republican president would fulfil, though Trump has distanced himself from this Conservative blueprint.

Another message read “Trump-Vance Weird as Hell.” A key messaging component of the Harris-Walz campaign this far has been to portray both Trump and his vice president nominee JD Vance as “creepy” and “weird.”

The projections were in both Spanish and English. Other messages read “Trump-Vance out for themselves” and “Harris Walz joy and hope.”

In the coming days, the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago will become the backdrop for Republican counter planning during the Democratic National Convention. Reports have claimed daily briefings will be held there.

The DNC has confirmed they were responsible for the projections.

In a statement, DNC spokesperson Abhi Rahman said: “All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight everyone is seeing a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week throughout the Democratic National Convention. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have proven records of delivering for working families, and now, they’re running to lead our country into a brighter future.”

“Donald Trump and JD Vance are running on their backwards Project 2025 agenda, which would undermine working families and take away their freedoms. This week, the entire country will witness what it looks like to unite behind hope and a clear vision for a better future, as Democrats rally behind Vice President Harris and Governor Walz. While Donald Trump and JD Vance are out for themselves, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for you,” the statement continued.

Newsweek has contacted the Trump campaign and the Trump organization for comment, outside of working hours. Neither immediately responded.

Rahman also posted about the beamed messaging online. In an X post of a photo of the “Trump-Vance Weird as Hell” slogan on the side of the building, Rahman wrote: “While @TheDemocrats are joyfully celebrating in Chicago, residents of Chi-town are seeing a special message projected on Trump tower.”

Rahman confirmed to Rolling Stone that the Democrats used a high-powered projector, from a room booked opposite the Trump Tower building, to beam the images.

Trump will also take advantage of the Democratic concentration in Chicago this week by hosting campaign events in key battleground states, where he will discuss a wide range of issues.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated when we have more information.
