This is the shocking moment a brawl broke out on a jetty after passengers got into a row over who got first dibs on the next ferry home from an idyllic Italian beach.

Dozens of sunseekers were spotted at the Lido Schiacchetiello, in Bacoli, Naples, fighting across the pier and on board a boat.

Witnesses who captured footage of the chaos told local media the mass argument was sparked after passengers began disagreeing on who had priority to enter the boat first.

A shocking clip of the drama shows a rowdy group of people in swimming gear smacking and hitting each other in a small boat bobbing in the water.

One  man can be seen repeatedly slapping another traveller in his face before pounding his fists into his back.

The fight then escalates as the men in the boat begin attacking another group of men standing on the pier as they yell at each other and wave their arms around.

As they push and shove each other across the wooden bridge, one unfortunate beachgoer gets violently thrown off the pier before landing in the boat packed with furious fighters.

Despite this, the scrap continues between the men as one man climbs off the pier into the boat while another continues his beating on land.

The pier quickly becomes filled with battling individuals while several onlookers stand in the pristine waters and watch on in shock.

According to the witness, there were also some Neapolitan TikTokers among the brawlers.

Finally the fighting comes to a standstill and several men can be seen piling on to the rocking vessel before it takes off.

The viral clip from July 22 was shared by MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli on Instagram, where he spoke of his disappointment around the unnecessary violence.

He wrote: ‘In Varcaturo, women had been fighting over a sunbed in the front row. The scenario, the genre and the motivations have changed, but not the violence that is returning to the beaches’.

Just two weeks ago, raging sunseekers got into a brawl on an Italian beach after they were denied loungers in a prime spot near the shoreline.

Lifeguards refused the requests and a vicious fight broke out between the women and members of the public, with footage showing them wrestling and yanking each other’s hair.

Witnesses said the women then turned on beach lifeguards who had been trying to pull them away, and that the fight went on for ‘more than half an hour’.

The violent scenes took place in the coastal resort of Varcaturo, near Naples, where families had been enjoying a day out.

Continuing on about last Monday’s violent brawl, Borrelli said: ‘A merciless scene under the undaunted eyes of many tourists and children.

‘Any excuse becomes good for giving vent to violence, to one’s barbaric instincts, to degradation, to sub-criminal ways. In reality, we cannot speak of triggers, they themselves are the reason for the violence that is intrinsic to their being.

‘These individuals cannot be together with others, they cannot transform beaches and public places into rings, saloons, territories of conquest.

‘For this reason, some time ago we proposed the introduction of the Metropolitan Tourist Police force that can guarantee safety and order in these crowded places frequented by many citizens and visitors, keeping away those scoundrels who must be reported and severely punished’.

The Mayor of Bacoli, Josi Della Ragione, also echoed Borrelli’s concerns and said in a social media post: ‘Get out of Bacoli! I have started the procedures to order the urban daspo against the group of thugs who yesterday, in the waters of Bacoli, gave rise to an unworthy brawl.

‘We will also report them for the damage to the image caused to our city. A physical clash that mortifies the thousands of good people who live here.

‘Whoever does not care about Bacoli, as well as the most basic rules of civil life, must never set foot there again.

‘We will do everything we can to identify those responsible for the outrage immortalised in so many videos, spread on social media’.
