Tara Davis-Woodall won her first Olympic medal while wearing a very special good luck charm.
The 25-year-old track and field star, who earned a gold medal in the women’s long jump event at the Paris Olympics on Thursday, Aug. 8, competed in a custom necklace that paid homage to the athlete’s journey.
Courtesy of Janet Heller Fine Jewelry, Davis-Woodhall’s 14K gold and diamond silhouette necklace features a silhouette charm of her signature pose. The Calabasas, Calif., jeweler also created an Olympics rings necklace for the athlete.
“Tara’s journey has been one of triumph and determination, and we’re so grateful that her cherished 14KT Gold & Diamond Silhouette Necklace was there with her every step of the way,” the shop wrote in an Instagram post shared on Friday, Aug. 9.
The caption continued with a quote from Davis-Woodhall: “Tara shared, ‘The silhouette has been my logo since high school. I’ve always loved jewelry and love to jump in all types of jewelry. To express myself while wearing my silhouette is the best of both worlds. So thankful to have had Janet Heller Fine Jewelry make my dream necklace.”
Davis-Woodall previously competed in the 2020 Olympics in Toyko but finished in sixth place. She came to the 2024 Paris Olympics fresh from a gold medal win at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in March.

Heller also created another meaningful Olympic jewelry piece — Simone Biles’ 3D goat necklace.
The 27-year-old gymnast revealed the sparkling necklace, made with 546 diamonds, after winning the all-around final on Thursday, Aug. 1. The animal is in reference to Biles being called the G.O.A.T. — or Greatest of All Time — of gymnastics. She is the most decorated gymnast in history and holds the most Olympic medals of any U.S. gymnast.

The jeweler previously told PEOPLE that she would “never” recreate the headline-making necklace. “It is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind creation made for Simone, who is truly extraordinary,” she said. “Simone is one-of-a-kind, and therefore, I feel the goat [necklace] should be too.”
