These are the most likely trade candidates before the Deadline

4:00 AM UTC

Randy Arozarena was traded Thursday night, while Zach Eflin, Austin Hays and Yimi García were all moved on Friday. Saturday saw more deals, including Jazz Chisholm Jr. moving to New York and Carlos Estévez heading to Philly. But with a little over two days remaining until Tuesday’s 6 p.m. ET Trade Deadline, who else will be dealt?

MLB.com looks at 20 players who have a good chance of wearing new uniforms by Tuesday night (listed in order of their 2024 fWAR):

Isaac Paredes, 3B, Rays
fWAR: 2.9

Paredes made his first All-Star team this season, but the Rays’ No. 1 prospect (and No. 3 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100) is Junior Caminero, who also plays third base. Paredes is due approximately $1.1 million this season and will be arbitration-eligible for three more years, so the cost to acquire a versatile player — he can play all around the infield — with that type of control will be steep.

Potential fits: Astros, Mariners, Yankees

Erick Fedde, RHP, White Sox
fWAR: 2.6

While most of the talk has surrounded Garrett Crochet, it’s Fedde who is the more likely White Sox starter to be dealt. Fedde, 31, has had a resurgent 2024 after spending last season in Korea, and with one more year and $7.5 million remaining on his contract, the righty can offer other clubs a mid-rotation starter at a reasonable price.

Potential fits: Astros, Brewers, Cardinals

Jack Flaherty, RHP, Tigers
fWAR: 2.5

After a disappointing season that included a Deadline trade to Baltimore in 2023, Flaherty has bounced back in ’24, going 7-5 with a 2.95 ERA for Detroit. Flaherty is owed about $4.6 million for the remainder of the season, after which he will be a free agent.

Potential fits: Dodgers, Guardians, Padres

Yusei Kikuchi, LHP, Blue Jays
fWAR: 2.2

Next to Flaherty, Kikuchi may be the most sought-after rental starter on the market this week. The 33-year-old isn’t having a great year, but he strikes out a lot of batters (130 in 115 2/3 innings) and doesn’t walk many (30), an appealing combination heading into the stretch run. Kikuchi is owed roughly $3.3 million for the rest of the season prior to becoming a free agent.

Potential fits: Astros, Guardians, Cardinals

Jameson Taillon, RHP, Cubs
fWAR: 1.6

Taillon’s name has been one of the hottest on the rumor mill this week, as the Cubs have received significant interest in the starter. With $42 million owed to him between now and the end of 2026, Taillon is a controllable arm that won’t cost as much as his younger counterparts such as Tarik Skubal and Garrett Crochet.

Potential fits: Astros, Red Sox, Yankees

Luis Rengifo, 2B/3B, Angels
fWAR: 1.4

The Angels will be fielding calls on a number of controllable players, including left-hander Tyler Anderson and outfielder Taylor Ward, but Rengifo stands out in an infield-thin market. The 27-year-old is owed $1.45 million this season and is arbitration-eligible for the final time in 2025.

Potential fits: Pirates, Red Sox, Yankees

Mike Yastrzemski, OF, Giants
fWAR: 1.3

Michael Conforto, OF, Giants
fWAR: 0.6

San Francisco’s 4-5 record since the All-Star break likely has the Giants in sell mode, making Yastrzemski and Conforto — a pair of left-handed hitting outfielders — logical trade candidates. Conforto is owed about $6 million, while Yastrzemski, who is arbitration-eligible for one more year, will make roughly $2.6 million for the rest of 2024.

Potential fits: Mets, Pirates, Royals

Dylan Floro, RHP, Nationals
fWAR: 1.1

The 33-year-old has a pristine 1.94 ERA in 50 appearances this season, making him one of the more effective non-closer relievers on the market. Floro is owed roughly $750,000 and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Potential fits: Cardinals, D-backs, Mets

Elias Díaz, C, Rockies
fWAR: 1.0

Adding a catcher at this time of year can be tricky, but for clubs seeking help behind the plate, the 2023 All-Star Game MVP is the best option available. Díaz, who is headed for free agency and is owed about $2 million for the remainder of the season, has a solid bat and strong defensive metrics.

Potential fits: Pirates, Rangers, Yankees

Cal Quantrill, RHP, Rockies
fWAR: 1.0

The 29-year-old might not be Plan A for many contenders, but for those that find the prices for the top arms too steep or simply miss out on some of those other pitchers, Quantrill may be a solid consolation prize. He’s owed about $2.1 million this season and is under control in 2025, when he will be arbitration-eligible for the final time.

Potential fits: Astros, Brewers, Twins

Yandy Díaz, 1B/3B, Rays
fWAR: 0.8

Having already traded Arozarena and Eflin this week, the Rays could also move Díaz, who is drawing plenty of interest. Díaz can play either corner-infield spot and could land with the Mariners, the Astros or the Pirates. He’s owed roughly $2.65 million this season, will earn $10 million in 2025 and has a $12 million club option for ’26.

Potential fits: Astros, Mariners, Pirates

Tanner Scott, LHP, Marlins
fWAR: 0.8

An All-Star for the first time in his career, the 30-year-old is one of the top closers available this summer. Scott is owed roughly $1.9 million in 2024 before heading to free agency, making him one of the biggest locks to be dealt by Tuesday.

Potential fits: Mets, Royals, Yankees

Paul DeJong, SS, White Sox

fWAR: 0.7

DeJong, who turns 31 on Aug. 2, has been productive this season for the White Sox, hitting 17 home runs in 99 games. The options for clubs seeking middle-infield help are thin, and given that DeJong is owed less than $600,000 this season, the impending free agent could be a low-risk trade candidate.

Potential fits: Dodgers, Guardians, Mariners

Lane Thomas, OF, Nationals
fWAR: 0.7

Thomas is a well-rounded outfielder who ranks among Washington’s best players, but with James Wood in the Majors and Dylan Crews on his way, the Nationals could move Thomas to bring back younger, controllable talent. Thomas will earn roughly $1.8 million for the remainder of the season and is arbitration-eligible for one more year before becoming a free agent.

Potential fits: Braves, Dodgers, Guardians

Miguel Andujar, OF, Athletics
fWAR: 0.5

Many clubs will try to pry Brent Rooker away from Oakland, but with three more years of control, the slugger seems more likely to remain with the Athletics past the Deadline. Andujar has been productive in 51 games, hitting four homers with 26 RBIs and a .735 OPS. The impending free agent is set to earn about $560,000 over the remainder of the season.

Potential fits: Guardians, Red Sox, Twins

Blake Snell, LHP, Giants
fWAR: 0.5

Since returning from the injured list earlier this month, Snell has allowed two run over 24 innings (0.75 ERA) in four starts — his most recent being a career-best 15-strikeout performance. Snell has a $30 million player option for 2025 that could cause potential suitors to pause, but if the Giants want to deal the two-time Cy Young winner, they should have a chance to do so.

Potential fits: Astros, Cardinals, Dodgers

Luis García, RHP, Angels
fWAR: 0.4

The 37-year-old reliever is having a solid season, posting a 3.80 ERA in 44 appearances. A hard-thrower (he ranks in the 86th percentile in fastball velocity at 96.3 mph) and ground-ball specialist (84th percentile in ground-ball percentage), García is due about $1.4 million in 2024 before becoming a free agent.

Potential fits: D-backs, Padres, Twins

Kyle Finnegan, RHP, Nationals
fWAR: 0.2

Finnegan earned his first All-Star nod this season, and with a 2.32 ERA and 28 saves in 44 appearances, the 32-year-old is one of three notable closers available. Finnegan is owed about $1.7 million this season and is arbitration-eligible for the final time this offseason.

Potential fits: Padres, Phillies, Yankees

Tommy Pham, OF, White Sox
fWAR: 0.1

Pham is no stranger to Trade Deadline deals, having been traded in the summers of 2018, ’22 and ’23. Pham’s numbers this season don’t jump off the page, but the 36-year-old still hits lefties well (.848 OPS) and he can play all three outfield positions. He’s owed a little more than $800,000 for the rest of the season before hitting free agency.

Potential fits: Braves, Pirates, Royals
