Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro laid into Donald Trump in a show that he has what it takes to be Kamala Harris‘ running mate.

The Democratic governor made the case against Trump by claiming the former president is ‘weird,’ ‘dangerous’ and proposing some ‘scary s***’ on his 2024 platform – and claimed the former president is ‘scared’ of the vice president.

But Shapiro also sought to prove he was ready to take on Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) during a rally for Harris’ campaign outside of Philadelphia.

Pennsylvania is massively important in this election cycle and is one of the few battleground states that could determine the outcome in November.

Trump nabbed a victory in Pennsylvania in 2016 by just 0.7 percent before the state flipped blue in 2020 to go for Biden over the incumbent by a 1.2 percent gap.

The Keystone State is one of the three toss-ups for 2024, according to Cook Political Report. The other two are rust belt states of Michigan and Wisconsin.

A Bloomberg report Monday reveals that Shapiro as well as Arizona Gov. Mark Kelly and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are the top three contenders Harris is considering adding to her ticket.

Joined by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer during a stop in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania on Monday afternoon, Shapiro launched expletive-ridden attacks against Trump and Vance, whom he would debate if selected to join Harris’ ticket.

‘I have a message to Donald Trump – stop s*** talking America,’ Shapiro said to an auditorium of about 1,000 Democrat voters. ‘This is the greatest country on the face of the earth, let’s start acting like it.’

‘You ever see this guy? When he’s on the stage, he’s like kind of meanders over, he can’t really walk well. And he goes over to the flag and he, like, hugs the flag,’ the Pennsylvania Governor said in reference to a bit the former president sometimes repeats during appearances.

‘I love the flag, but it’s a weird thing he does,’ Shapiro added.

‘But while he’s hugging the flag, you know what he’s doing? He’s ripping away our freedom. That’s what he’s all about.’

He also claimed Trump is scared to debate Harris after the ex-president said he wouldn’t commit to anything until she was officially the party’s nominee, which happens next month at the Democratic National Convention.

The governor said that Harris is ‘not only ready, she’s damn ready.’

‘You know who else knows she’s ready? Donald Trump knows she’s ready,’ Shapiro added.

‘And you know how I know this?’ he went on. ‘Because he’s afraid to debate her now. And it’s not just because she’s a skilled debater… He’s afraid to debate her because he can’t defend his record.’

Whitmer claims that Harris will choose her running mate in the next six or seven days.

In her remarks at the Wissahickon High School gymnasium on Monday, the Michigan governor seemed to join-in on Shapiro’s audition for the VP role.

‘Another governor who believes in our three-part strategy: Get s*** done,’ Whitmer said of her Pennsylvania counterpart.

The crowd then began chanting the phrase.

Harris entering the race has injected enthusiasm in eastern Pennsylvania voters and many told DailyMail.com that they were getting ‘sad’ continuing to support Biden before he exited the race last weekend.
