A National Front sticker with a deadly razor blade hidden underneath has been discovered at a train station just 500 yards away from a primary school in Kent.

The sticker, emblazoned with the far-right group’s logo on the front and the slogan ‘Rights for Whites’, had been attached to a light fitting at Dunton Green station, near to Sevenoaks, before it was discovered by a shocked commuter, The Mirror reports.

It was found on Monday, the same day as three young girls were killed and several injured during a fatal stabbing at a children’s Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport, Merseyside.

The attack has incited a rise in far-right activity across the UK after online misinformation claimed the knifeman was a Muslim asylum seeker, including disorder and protests in Southport, Nottingham, Manchester and Blackpool among other cities.

Suspect Axel Rudakubana, 17, was born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents.

Local authorities have warned the public of ‘an increasing level of far right propaganda’ in the village, but asked people to remain calm and vigilant.

Following the discovery of the sticker, the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) warned people to ‘take extreme care’ and not to attempt to remove any that they find.

In a statement posted on social media, RMT said: ‘It has been brought to our attention that dangerous stickers have been discovered at a railway station that, once removed, have razor blades stuck to them.

‘Please take extreme care and do not attempt to remove them.’

PC Nick Hubbard told My Community Voice Kent: ‘On Monday 29th July 2024, police were alerted to a concerning event near to Dunton Green train station.

‘While it’s important not to incite panic, it’s crucial to raise awareness about this issue.

‘I would urge everyone to remain vigilant. If you come across any ‘hate-inspired stickers’ in public places, please do not attempt to remove them yourself.

‘The sticker in question was located near a school, highlighting the potential danger it posed.’

Chief Supt Chris Casey, Commander for British Transport Police and South East England, said the ‘tactic’ is one used previously by far-right groups.

‘This is sadly a known tactic used by some extreme groups,’ he said.

This is not the first time hidden razor blades have been found in Dunton Green.

In October 2021, razor blades were found under Nazi swastika stickers on a bus shelter close to the local school.

At the time, officers described the incident as ‘disturbing’ and said it was ‘sheer luck’ that a child had not been injured.

In other instances, razor blades have been found underneath anti-vax posters outside Covid vaccine centres and anti-5G posters pinned to telegraph poles.

Anyone with information or wishing to report a sticker can text the British Transport Police on 61016 or 0800 405 040.
